President Donald Trump said he regrets the tone he has used during his first two years in office during an exclusive interview with Sinclair Broadcast Group.
"I would like to have a much softer tone. I feel to a certain extent I have no choice, but maybe I do," Trump said. He attributed his tone during his first two years in office to wanting to get things done on his agenda, adding that he could have been softer in his delivery.
He said after the midterm election his tone is something he will be working on and he hopes there will be more harmony between Republicans and Democrats.
"I would love to get along, and I think after the election a lot of things can happen. But right now they are in their mode, and we are in our mode. And you know if you're criticized you have to hit back, or you should," Trump said.
Trump remained optimistic that an olive branch would be extended after Tuesday's race.
"I hope so. It is certainly better for the country," Trump remarked. "I hope that happens and we are certainly willing to do that. And think before anything else we have to get tomorrow over with."

Trumps tone is a problem. It is far too soft against the marxist revolutionaries bent upon destroying our Republic.
Everything they report, they try to spin to harm Trump and validate their tactics. Not buying it...
Yep. Thats what Id just posted.
Note the quotes.
NO WAY....
.... That “softer” tone is JEB and MITT....
.........Forget that nonsense!
Because Paul Ryan sure as Hell haven’t done anything to help Trump other than pass obligatory tax cuts.

An effective leader, one who put America first, could have passed a lot of great legislation. Instead, the wuss ryan sat on his ass and did nothing. He just wants to get together with Flake, Kasisch, corker and the other losers and bash Trump on a full time basis. I am so glad he is gone.
I agree he was way too kind
A looooong time ago!
Things are only going to get worse after tomorrow, whoever wins the election. The other side is demonstrably deranged and/or satanic. We can’t work with them.
Try to impeach Trump and they will see our tone in a bad way.
I think Lurkinanloomin had it right in post 40 here.
“Youre doing fine, Mr. President.”

The DemonRats will not pass anything that advances Trump’s agenda. Only which suits there. We can’t work with them.
If we wanted a softer tone we would have nominated Jeb Bush. And Hillary Clinton would be president today.
I regret his tone also. I regret that he had to use it, but it was necessary, effective and beneficial.
Well, this really is the struggle between good and evil. Right here. Right now.
I loved Trump’s response to Leslie Stahl when she asked, with her most phony concerned expression on her face, if he regretted anything in his time as president. POTUS nodded and said definitely. He wished he had gotten NAFTA renegotiated a little sooner. Classic Trump. They enemedia love to try and pin Trump into a corner. They never succeed.
The man’s a fighter all his life. It shows.
NEVER in my lifetime, and I am not young, has a President of the United States actually fought for us. Reagan is the exception, but he fought with charm.
Charm only gets you so far. And these are lawless times, with entire federal agencies ammoing up for.....????? Us? No. AGAINST us.
That pretty much sums it up for me.
I can imagine how they would have walked on the guy, if he didn’t use the barbs he did.
He hasn’t been near harsh enough for the scum he is up against.
And you say, “Stop struggling and it won't hurt!”.
As long as it doesn’t include a blanket pardon for all the criminal democrats.
