House Speaker Paul Ryan pleaded with President Trump in a phone call to tout the booming economy rather than continue attacking the migrant caravan in Mexico in the final days before Tuesday’s midterm elections, according to a report on Monday.
The Wisconsin Republican reached out to Trump on Sunday and urged him to change his message but the president said his focus on immigration is firing up his supporters, Politico reported.
“Trump has hijacked the election,” a senior House Republican aide told Politico about Trump’s attention on immigration. “This is not what we expected the final weeks of the election to focus on.”

I got a nice mailer from the FL GOP about immigration. Obviously there is a method to the Trump’s messaging but K Street prostitutes like Amnesty Ryan don’t want to fight that battle.
The Soros-funded organizers of the caravan put this issue front-and-center just before the election. Trump didn’t.

Mr. Ryan and I are the same age. He is Speaker of the House of Representatives of the United States. Yet, I feel that I have accomplished so much more in my life than this guy. The economy?! What does a man who has never held a real job know about the economy?
Protecting low-skilled Americans - black, brown, Asian and white - from having their job opportunities taken by illegal immigrants IS about the economy.
Can Ryan be effectively blacklisted from lobbying by Trump and House Republicans? Trump should instruct that no administration official is permitted to take calls from retiring NeverTrumpers regarding legislation. They would lose millions in potential income.

Actually, unwittingly Ryan just made BOTH the economy and the caravan front and center.
Trump played him big time. No wonder Ryan and Romney lost. They are strategic amateurs. Remember Romney deciding that pushing Benghazi was not the way to go? Remember them deciding that rope-a-dope the final month was a good strategy?
We know about the economy....right now, the Caravan is what’s on our mind. The President is doing right....telling us the truth and hoping we can resolve this WITHOUT the courts interference.
He already has the economy in an upswing that hasn’t been seen in decades...
His message to the voters in 2016 WAS about the border..
