I doubt there is no crossover with folks voting R.
That is an important point, how much money is being spent there:)
Texas seems to be a “hot” destination for emigrants from California.
Ted is annoying and less liked. Simple as that. Beto talks a good game despite being a lib.
I doubt the people voting for Abbot and not Cruz are voting for ROBERT O’Rourke. They’re voting for Abbot and leaving the senate line blank or writing in someone else. They have good reason to with the way Cruz acted at the convention.
Excellent point. “Beto” is shaping up to be the most expensive loser in Senate history. Thank God that money isn’t being spent where it might be more effective.
At the end of the day, they’ll both win by similar margins. Beto simply has more name recognition which gets attention by people who answer polls — to the extent they’re not fake.
Thanking them for boosting the economy would be like winning again:)
Why anyone would vote for Beta, I’ll never know. Beta is just another John F’n Kerry, married to an inheritance check and riding around on a skateboard.
That’s not what is happening. It’s the undervote. Executive positions get more votes than legislative positions. The same thing happens with Senate elections in Presidential election years. The Executive position (President, and/or Governor) get the most total votes; and the drop-off to the legislative (Senate, and then moreso, the House races in total in a given state for all districts (not district by district; those can go 75-25 for one candidate or another within a district, or even go uncontested (99+ for the winner versus a handful of write-ins) fall off even more); and the margins shrink too; as the party with the leading vote totals at the top of the ticket shrink at a faster rate down the ticket.
This pattern usually holds even when a candidate on the ‘undercard’ is more popular personally than the winning candidate of the same party at the executive level.
O’Rourke has raised over $62 million so far. He isn’t giving any of that money to any other candidates either.
Friendly reminder that we are not allowed to “bad mouth” Cruz on Free Republic, per boss’s orders:

Sure Ted hurt himself politically two years ago and Republicans have long memories, but I just don’t understand why anyone would ever vote for Robert Francis O’Rourke.
Texas still has straight party voting for this election. I think that +8 for Cruz will be much more in the actual voting
Better than any Bush League Republican like Cornyn, too.
A conundrum ping....
won’t we all be glad when this election thing is over! :)
Abbott is conservative/Republican
Polls are crap. Stop getting pulled into poll results. If they aren’t lying to you, then they’re just plain wrong. Would you give reliable answers to a pollster? Whatever your response, there are hundreds of thousands that match it. Repeat after me, polls are crap. All of them. Every time.
There’s a word for people bad mouthing Cruz: disruptors.
It’s an old term, a Free Republic term.
Predates troll by a lot.
.
You’re a deluded fool. A troll.
How is the weather today in Moscow, comrad?
