I doubt there is no crossover with folks voting R.
O’Rourke has raised over $60,000,000 from California while no one is donating “Lupe.”
Just guessing the reasons. Ted is less liked and more controversial, and Ted insulted DJT aand his supporters at the 2016 GOP convention. Some people don’t forget Ted blamed Trump for antifa violence, and made a carnival show of himself with Carly Fiorina.
Or, the polling is skewed.
I cannot see anyone voting for Abbott who then votes for O’****head
Also running for President while Canadian.........
Yup.
He chose the WRONG side two years ago. And is elephants NEVER forget
There is no good reason. If someone voted for Trump, and now decides to vote for Abbot and Beto, they are an idiot and shouldn’t be voting. Texas is a big state, so lot’s of idiots apparently.
Ping.
Well then Ted Cruz is doing quite a favor for the rest of the Republican senate and congressional candidates by diverting donations away from lots of other more winnable races.
us elephants
If they are up that much that’s bad?
Crazy Lupe.
Of course Beto is almost as crazy, but some people don’t see it.
I’m sure there are #NeverTedders out there but I think the large difference is who is taking the polls - they have a vested interest in keeping Betov competitive while they’ve long given up on Lupe. I’ll bet when the tabulating finishes, Abbott will win by a higher margin but Cruz’s margin will be close to Abbott’s.
You are correct. The feud he carried on with Trump, including staying in the race when mathematically eliminated, (even though not quite as ridiculously so as John Kasich) is hurting him by a few percentage points.
That, and money still means something in politics, even if it’s cynical, spiteful, money given in vain from Hollywood leftists from out of state.
Somehow, they got the notion from the Alabama debacle that they could pick off Senate seats in deep red states by buying them for $100 million a piece.
Thankfully, all those ‘Beto’ consultants, image makers and pollsters will be trash for liberal cash; pushing Irishman Bobby O’Rourke as a fake Hispanic. His crass cultural appropriation will fail.
He shouldn’t have run for President. He should have remembered Reagan’s Rule (they all should have). Ted has a healthy collection of meadow muffins for his curio cabinet.
And he’s still way better than any Democrat.
BETO’s father in law has 20 BILLION dollars, that’s why. He’s just trying to buy his son in law a nice Christmas gift.
We’ll see how it goes the final poll. It’s possible for one person to be more likable than the other in general, and it is reflected in the polls. That gap between +8 and +20 will probably tighten in the final analysis. People will tell pollsters different things for different reasons - particularly when so much ‘peer pressure’/media spotlight is on one particular race. We learned there is a big sleeper contingent who didn’t tell pollsters the truth the last cycle. No other way to explain why HRC had double-digit polling leads but lost overall. People are no longer willing to openly say what they support and now add violence to the mix. When you have 20% of the people and 90% of the media going ape.... er apoplectic at the sound of a name, or if they say you are a racist and sexist if you support so and so, you are less inclined to admit it openly.
I’ve seen footage of people ripping out Cruz yard signs and cursing and throwing them in the street. I’ve read O’Rourke has way more signs up, yet Cruz still has a commanding lead. This tells us that the people on the left don’t fear any backlash from the right for putting up yard signs while those on the right have some reservations about what may happen from crazies on the left. When passions are visceral and palpable some people feel its prudent to keep their opinions to themselves. O’Rourke vs Cruz is one of those hot-issues.
Yep. They made a conscious decision to challenge Cruz, while offering a sacrificial lamb against Abbott.
Assuming his lead holds, Mr. Cruz should make a point of thanking California's Democrat donors for their contributions to Texas' economy in his victory speech.
