Any Michael Savage Listners
Self | Self

Posted on 10/23/2018 9:35:12 PM PDT by jmclemore

I've listen to Micheal Savage for many years and enjoy his show almost as much and as Rush. Hell, the first time I heard of Michael Savage was a book he wrote about healing children naturally.

Any Savage listeners here..

He’s a bit of a divider around here. To some he’s a sage; others think he’s a lunatic. Par for the course on punditry, I’d say.

Savage doesn’t get much for props on Free Republic. As another poster pointed out, folks around here are divided about him.

If I had to guess, I’d say that only a small minority of Freepers listen to him regularly.

I personally think the guy is a troubled soul, who has occasional flashes of brilliance.

Savage and Rush are 2 completely different animals. I listen to both.
Rush’s mission is to advance Reagan Conservatism.
Savage’s mission is to entertain Reagan Conservatives.
Savage is easily the most hilarious of all the talk hosts. But I don’t think he himself is a Conservative at all. I think he is an old guard demonrat who is frustrated with the direction of the party — a lot like Pat Caddell.
Also, Savage hates EVERYONE! — except his little dog Teddy...

Savage does get credit for being the one who emphasized, “Borders, Language and Culture.”

I used to listen to him every weekday, back when KSFO AM was full of talk talent, one star after the other.
That changed, and after a few years I had enough of Mike’s pessimism.

So I listened to others. I still have great respect for Mike as an intellectual and a media entertainer.
I hear he can be a hassle to deal with when he doesn’t get his way. I liked hearing his personal stories when he was calm. When he was speaking of things he likes, such as foods, wines, and pets.

Mercurial, formidable, exhausting, needy, one to hold a grudge, hilarious and deliberately complex describes him.

So full of himself that he nauseates me. He’s a lunatic. “Flashes of brilliance”? Never glimpsed a single one.

Michael Savage can be very informative at times, but very infuriating at other times. Like Mark Levin, Michael Savage can get very angry, and anger is not really a good business plan for drawing in listeners. The one main difference between those guys and Rush, is that Rush is usually cheerful even under the worst circumstances, and doesn't lose his cool.

When he's "on his meds" Michael Savage is OK. But Michael has mood swings and sometimes rambles on about boring topics. But we can all thank Michael for popularizing the phrase "borders, language, culture".

Based in California, Michael Savage warned about the growing problem of illegal immigration years and years before it was on anyone else's radar.

He was pretty good sometimes, but insufferable when he would talk about himself or other talk show people. Sometimes you could tell he would throw a fit for dramatic effect

My principal impression of him is that he screams a lot and I have too limited a tolerance for that to ascertain anything more.

I didn’t listen to that Sam Kinnison guy either.

#7: "Mercurial, formidable, exhausting, needy, one to hold a grudge, hilarious and deliberately complex describes him."

That is the most brilliant one sentence summary of Michael Savage that I've ever seen. Perfect!

Isn’t he also responsible for, “liberalism is a mental disorder.”?

I do enjoy his show. But he’s up against Buck Sexton in my market and I’m often listening to him as well for a change of pace.

Carnival barker con job of a “conservative”. A little vino might get him to speak honestly as to how easily some suckers are conned.

I do not doubt it has been a lucrative gig on his part. But the mouth is not the man he attempts his listeners to believe him to be. Still sometimes amusing to listen to his simple game/gag.

Savage does get credit for being the one who emphasized, “Borders, Language and Culture.”

He is also credited as the originator of the phrase, "Liberalism is a mental disorder."

Like I said, the man does have flashes of brilliance.

Thanks.
Mike would probably call that ‘Lies and slander from the comfortably numb!”. I know other people like that in my own life.
