I used to listen to him every weekday, back when KSFO AM was full of talk talent, one star after the other.
That changed, and after a few years I had enough of Mike’s pessimism.
So I listened to others. I still have great respect for Mike as an intellectual and a media entertainer.
I hear he can be a hassle to deal with when he doesn’t get his way. I liked hearing his personal stories when he was calm. When he was speaking of things he likes, such as foods, wines, and pets.
Mercurial, formidable, exhausting, needy, one to hold a grudge, hilarious and deliberately complex describes him.
So full of himself that he nauseates me. He’s a lunatic. “Flashes of brilliance”? Never glimpsed a single one.
That is the most brilliant one sentence summary of Michael Savage that I've ever seen. Perfect!
Have listened to both Rush and Savage since their early days, off and on. Savage has been advocating the borders / language / culture since...what...the late 90’s? Used to listen to Hannity and Colmbes, then Mark Levin, and others. They all get tiresome and repetitive, but I still find Rush and Savage very prescient.
I love how he bashes all the other conservative media over the head...and then complains about how they don't even talk about him (or his books). haha. gee, I wonder why Mike!
Good description, IMO. He lost me when he started mocking and deriding Rush. Had there not been a Rush Limbaugh, there almost certainly would not have been a Michael Savage, and Rush has certainly been more consequential than Doctor Savage. Savage is a smart cookie, though, I will give him that.
What an excellent bio of Michael Savage, Lee!
He’s an incredible intellect with a wide expertise across subjects like history, medicines, nutrition.
I also love his personal stories. We also need people who are on the cutting edge of MAGA. No one speaks out like Savage against abortion, San Francisco decay, and pornography.
I think he criticizes Trump sometimes merely to “prove” he’s not a lapdog. I continue to listen to him from time to time. My favorite these days is Scott Adams podcasts.
