Washington (CNN)As Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh awaits a final Senate confirmation vote, a lawyer representing Christine Blasey Ford says she absolutely does not want him impeached if Democrats take control of Congress. Ford's attorney Debra Katz tells CNN's Dana Bash in an interview that Ford only wanted to tell her story to Senate Judiciary Committee members. She doesn't want the process to drag on into the next Congress should Democrats end up winning control on Capitol Hill. "Professor Ford has not asked for anything of the sort. What she did was to come forward and testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee and agree to cooperate with any investigation by the FBI and that's what she sought to do here," Katz said.

She wants to have them leave her alone now that she failed - if there is no more scrutiny, there is less chance she ends up in trouble....her lawyers know this too and now instead of telling her that since everything is hearsay and un-provable, she couldn’t be indicted for perjury, have to let her know the game has change as they would be liable for pushing her into such a maelstrom of woe...they can make a few fading protests themselves but that will die because they also become liable for their own malfeasance.the game has changed

Translation: She doesn’t want her claims investigated any deeper.
My suggestion, as contrary to her desires as it is, is that Kavanaugh should sue her in civil court, and his attorneys should drag their investigations into her claims so deep she screams for a settlement. And the settlement Kavanaugh should demannd at that point? It would be a statement from her that as a young woman who drank far too much and too often in those years, her memories of events are muddled and she does not really know the exact party where she was assualted, nor the exact persons involved.
