U.S. Senator Steve Daines (R) says he needs to be in Montana this weekend for his daughter's wedding, throwing Saturday's vote on Kavanaugh in doubt - NBCMT
Lou Dobbs just announced this a few minutes ago.
Hold the vote real early in the morning..problem fixed!!!
Better source:
Cant do that, all the guests would need to be flown in. Yeah, that might work. Think of the stories for their kids
You need to ping the mod like I did.
Yah well you know what I wanted to be around for a lot of things my kids did throughout their childhood but I was in the Persian Gulf or the Med or the North Atlantic or on Law Enforcement Ops. I barely made it to my daughters birth and I was on shore duty recruiting. Duty calls Senator!
Daines did say this:
Daines told The Associated Press Thursday in a statement that two things are going to happen this weekend: There's going to be a new Supreme Court justice and Daines is going to walk his daughter down the aisle.
That seems to indicate to me that he's got the vote thing worked out - they either don't need his vote or he'll be busy traveling on Saturday & I'm sure somebody has a private jet they'll let him use.
When I was in Korea in the 90s our battalion commanders daughter died in a car accident - he flew home and was back in command within a few days. Keep in mind it probably took him a couple of days flying to the States and back. He put his duty above his family and himself.
F this senator.
The kids can elope. That’ll save Dad lots of money, and likely save the country besides. Win-Win.
“U.S. Senator Steve Daines (R) says he cannot vote Saturday!”
That is not what he said.
Why is his daughters wedding just now coming up?

You don’t do a wedding on short notice today. The wedding has most certainly been set for months. Trump will fly the guy out to the wedding if he needs the guy’s vote.
and Justice K can preside
Did...twice.
I like the Air Force One idea.
I think of all the people away at wars through our history who couldn’t be home for important family matters. We are at war now in DC. Suck it up, Daines, and do your duty to your country.
The honorable thing to do would be for the Democrats to allow the vote tomorrow. It would only need unanimous consent. Unfortunately, honorable and Democrats can’t be used in the same sentence.
great idea, we’re all on the same page!
Mark Levin just mentioned.
The money is mostly (or even entirely) spent.
This would be astonishing. This dedicated representative of the people swears to uphold, protect, and defend the Constitution...except when it conflicts with his daughter’s wedding.
