Weddings these days are often planned a year in advance. I've had a niece & now a nephew getting married - both venues had limited dates available, even a year out. Should she be getting married "at home", you've got entire wedding parties, caterers, music, guests, etc. to deal with even if you've planned only 3-6 months out. His daughter's wedding isn't "just now coming up" - this date has been 'out there' for months, if not a year. You can blame the Dems for their stinking delays.

Daines did say this:

Daines told The Associated Press Thursday in a statement that two things are going to happen this weekend: There's going to be a new Supreme Court justice and Daines is going to walk his daughter down the aisle.

That seems to indicate to me that he's got the vote thing worked out - they either don't need his vote or he'll be busy traveling on Saturday & I'm sure somebody has a private jet they'll let him use.

They can’t trust the vote count until all the votes are in. He can’t leave based on a promise from Flake or Manchin. The best he could do is be an hour away on a jet and if someone backstabs, he can turn around in the air and return. McConnell can figure out a way to hold the vote open.
