The volcano rumbles but the left can’t hear it
WaPo ^ | 10-01-2018 | Hugh Hewitt

...But some seem to welcome a slide in that direction. “Tell me again why we shouldn’t confront Republicans where they eat, where they sleep, and where they work until they stop being complicit in the destruction of our democracy,” tweeted Ian Millhiser, justice editor at ThinkProgress.

“Because it is both wrong & supremely dangerous,” replied Georgetown Law professor Randy Barnett. “When one side denies the legitimacy of good faith disagreement over policy — as well as over constitutional principle — the other side will eventually reciprocate. Neither a constitutional republic nor a democracy can survive that.”

Princeton’s much-admired political theorist Robert P. George said of the exchange: “Randy Barnett drops a major truth bomb in response to an especially foolish and irresponsible tweet. We’re already in the orange zone of bitterness and hatred of citizens toward fellow citizens. We’re about to enter the red zone. This is how faction destroys democratic republics.”

The daily ratcheting-up of rhetoric is driving people away from ordinary political conversation. It is too freighted with potential for disproportionate responses to talk candidly about such things as one’s views of the Kavanaugh hearings. The intentional release of senators’ home addresses by someone there is reason to believe is a Capitol Hill staffer — “doxing” — is an ominous step in the Millhiser direction. It is a step back toward the tragedy that unfolded only last year when a deranged Bernie Sanders supporter tried to gun down the GOP caucus at baseball practice.

Everyone is aware of the end game for the Democrats. The survival of the Republic is the very last thing at the Democrats want.

The “left” are like lions lingering around the watering holes, just waiting for the gentle Gazelles to come for a drink.

They don’t hear the “volcanoes”, because like the media is attuned to them, they are attuned only to the media. They know only what the media shows them, and think riots and demonstrations for leftist causes are “the American people”.

Their scope on reality is really THAT limited.

It’s exactly why they were so shocked at Trump’s win in 2016, the bought into the media’s “polls” and thought they had it sewn up. Liberal pundits had them convinced the Republicans “didn’t have a chance”.

It’s a big, “mutual admiration society”...nothing outside the star chamber matters to them.

So, let them keep up their cultist kiss-ins, then it will be them repeating hillary’s line, “Then, why am I not 50 points ahead...”.

They go from zero, to “outrage” if someone chalks Trump’s name on a sidewalk...we usually dismiss it all as childish, and silly. But I think this Kavanaugh thing has lit the pilot light for Conservative OUTRAGE...finally.

The left does not need to get away with this behavior, if they do, it’ll never end. Make them pay, dearly.

I want to see rivers of liberal tears after the mid-terms.

You are right. Not only by their tactics must we judge them, but by their amitted end game purpose. As I posted elsewhere:

What precisely are they seeking, which motivates them to smear Judge Kavanaugh? What is the object of their reprehensible tactics?

Surely the end is even more reprehensible than the loathsome methodology. It is to prevent having a Supreme Court that will actually enforce the Constitutional intent; and by that vehicle, to retain the intention of the Founders, to pass on the Liberty won in the Revolution to succeeding generations.

The loathsome tactics, then, are to allow intellectually corrupted theorists on the Left, to deny Americans their birthright. Loathsome tactics to an even more loathsome purpose.

They lucky the Right actually believes in the rule of law. That ever stops it will get very ugly.

Rule of law is what keeps us us and not Somalia. That is tossed out, as the Left so obviously wants, it will be rule by the gun. We have most of them, almost all the combat vet, current military and police and all the brains.

Comments after article show they missed the point completely. I feel bad for the writer. Hard to get much clearer what the point was, and it would be foolish to state in print:

“Because we will get fed up with your assaults, and kill you. At will. And once it starts, it won’t stop until you all have bullet holes in your heads, and your leaders are swinging from lamposts. We’re not organized, so going after our leaders would be futile. Think minutemen, fading into the forest.” I am glad the writer didn’t say that.

Just sayin...

No, the “Democrats” (truly the American Nazi Party) want the institution of the 4th Reich right here.

"How did this get published by the Post?"

Maybe it's the Leftist media's way of telling their people to take it down a notch, just a little, so the Right won't retaliate.

The survival of the Republic is the very last thing at the Democrats want.

It's clear that with this Kavanaugh business that the left wants to overthrow what's left of the Constitution and replace it with a progressive tyranny in which political legitimacy and participation and is granted exclusively to an ever-shifting assemblage of grievance groups howling about their status as victims. These people cannot be trusted with exercising political power ever again.

I believe I said that.

Would not “ the institution of the 3rd Reich” mean the destruction of the Republic?

"A damning indictment of the tactics of the political left. How did this get published by the Post?"

Democrats have shown themselves to be unworthy of leadership in this country. They have proven themselves unworthy of the public trust. They have revealed their psychotic insatiable lust for power and their willingness to destroy anyone or anything to achieve it. We should ask ourselves. What does the left want to do with all this power they seek? History has given us the answer but are we going to continue to ignore it or keep living in denial of the obvious threat we all face from the left?

It could be that some on the left are concerned they have gone too far too quickly. Maybe this article is an attempt to dial it back before a widespread counter response is mobilized.

The survival of the Republic is contingent on the survival of the population. Ditches full of Socialist bodies, while satisfying, will destroy the Republic. What is odd is how democrats can't understand this.

Also, it's sort hard on the Socialists, but their existence is a very low priority. It's not as if they are human, or of any intrinsic worth...
