A red herring FBI investigation would also likely result in Trump somehow being accused obstruction of justice or attempting to influence the investigation.

Andrew McCarthy, one of maybe two people at National Review with a measurable testosterone level. I wish he would leave there.

McCarthy misses a huge point here.

From a political perspective, would the Republicans have been better off confirming Kavanaugh (A) two weeks ago, or (B) next week?

The answer is (B) -- and in a big way.

Putting Kavanaugh in front of that Judiciary Committee on Thursday was a brilliant political move.

I've been saying for two weeks now that the longer this drags on, the better it is for the Republicans.

Being filled with the Holy Spirit and praying would have helped...

Flake could have concerned of what spirit those 2 women were...just what sent them there...

But the delay may have been inevitable, given that not all Republicans are solid yes votes.

This additional investigation may placate Collins and Murkowski.

There are always things happening behind the scenes, and the best guess is that they didn’t have 51 firm yes votes from ALL Republicans.

Yes, but she was so “credible”.

“Credible”? Even her sniveling was forced. Can men really not tell when a woman is lying? I was shocked at how unbelievable she was.

The Democrats' riot, to derail the Kavanaugh appointment, is a prelude to impeachment, but it is much worse than that.

It is a prelude to intensifying violence leading to war, if the Democrats' evil designs on America are thwarted.

The election of President Trump threw a monkey wrench into their evil plans.

His pledge to "clean up" the corruption in Washington was received as an attack on their evil plans and also on the corrupt, evil politicians and their henchpersons (notably in the news media!), whose power and privileges are accepted as their personal rights but, of far greater importance, as essential to the ultimate fulfillment of the Democrats' evil designs for the transformation of the USA into a totalitarian state.

These evil people cannot allow President Trump to succeed.

If he does, he will shine the light of truth on them, their corruption, their criminal activity, and their evil plans for America, and it will expose them and reveal what they are and what they plan to do.

If he succeeds in "cleaning up" the corruption, it will destroy their power and prevent the fulfillment of their evil plans.

These evil people will stop at NOTHING!

NOTHING is beneath them! NOTHING is beyond what they will do! The violence that they are capable of will shock the world!

They will scorch the earth!

They will wage war!

They will destroy America, the world, and everything in it!

Expect THE WORST from them! You will not be surprised!

I think this FBI “investigation” is merely about getting to 50 votes. A couple of limp-spine Republicans want a little bigger fig leaf before they can work up the nerve to vote to confirm.

The rats have already gotten part of what they wanted. SCOTUS starts a new session on monday. (first monday in October) He will not be there. I heard somewhere, that a Justice who joins the court after the term begins cannot vote on cases that were deliberated before he joined. Anybody know if that is true?

If you do not have the votes, you delay. Maybe some of those on the fence wanted some delay. Have the vote this next week and put everyone on record.

One week, two weeks, right now, last week....who cares?

Kavanaugh will be on SCOTUS for twenty years. We’re on a bumpy glide path to confirm him. The bumps are annoying but ultimately don’t matter.

People talk like we have a real Senate Majority, we don’t.

The Rats are just doing what The Rats always do. I must admit, they may have outdone themselves this time around.

We have at least three Wolves in Sheep’s clothing, Collins, Flake and Murkowski on our side who think the Rats they work beside in the Senate have scruples. They are fools.

There is no better reason to Vote to expand our Senate Majority this November so the power of the turncoats can be diluted, no matter the outcome of the Kavanaugh Nomination.

I liken Flake’s last minute Blackmail to the last minute Thumbs Down that McCain pulled when we were trying to get rid of Obamacare. The smaller the Majority, the more power is handed to those with a Napoleon Complex.

Rank-and-file Republican primary voters chose John McCain the squish as their nominee, they chose Mitt Romney the squish their nominee. They chose all the Squishies in the Senate as their nominees. Nominating Trump was the first good thing rank-and-file GOP voters have done in a long long time. Guess what, that was only 2 years ago? Let’s stop blaming all these squishes and start blaming ourselves for putting them in power. We have the ability to change this. Nobody put a gun to our heads and made us nominate these people to run as Republicans.

The problem I always had with the so-called Tea Party caucus, is that they never ever went after the media the way Trump does. All this stuff about small government was spoken in very polite tones. We need Republicans who are even MORE combative than Trump in order to counter the evil that we are up against. Everyone keeps saying how the best thing about Trump is how he shine the light on how nasty and hypocritical Democrats and the left are. Gee, imagine if we had about 200 more Trump-y Republicans in Congress and the Senate. The American people might actually get the idea that the other party is willing to stand up and fight against their opponents the way our opponents have fought us like Street brawlers for the last 40 years.

I’m really sick of hearing people saying that if Kavanaugh goes down that the Republicans are finished in the midterms. The idea that we should stay home and not vote because two or three squishes didn’t vote for Kavanaugh is complete Madness. We created this Republican Party, and we have to fix it. And while we’re in the process of fixing it we have to keep voting for Republicans like our life depends on it.

“Republicans Should Not Have Delayed the Kavanaugh Vote”

But, they did...and Never-Trumper McCarthy is joyous.
