They gave Democrats exactly what they wanted.
You have opponents whose first and only objective is delay. From the start of the confirmation proceedings on Judge Brett Kavanaughs nomination to the Supreme Court, those opponents, Senate Democrats, have thus pushed for delay. At every turn. Of course they never come out and say thats what theyre doing they never come out and say, Weve abused the confirmation process and dropped a bomb at the eleventh hour, an uncorroborated, 36-year-old allegation of sexual assault, because were trying to delay the vote until after the midterms. But delay is what they want.
It doesnt matter what sheeps clothing the wolf comes in; the wolf is always delay. When they say, Were protecting survivors, they mean, We want delay. When they posture that women must be believed, their aim is more delay. When they say, The FBI must investigate to remove any cloud over the nominee, the translation is: Give us a delay so we can come up with new reasons for delay.
Get it?
Dems say, potato, they mean delay; Dems say tomato, they mean delay; Tomato, delay, potato, delay; Lets call the whole thing off.
...
Observing that the GOP majority is giving Democrats exactly what they want does not adequately convey how incompetently Republicans have performed.

Yes, but she was so “credible”.
“Credible”? Even her sniveling was forced. Can men really not tell when a woman is lying? I was shocked at how unbelievable she was.
It is a prelude to intensifying violence leading to war, if the Democrats' evil designs on America are thwarted.
The election of President Trump threw a monkey wrench into their evil plans.
His pledge to "clean up" the corruption in Washington was received as an attack on their evil plans and also on the corrupt, evil politicians and their henchpersons (notably in the news media!), whose power and privileges are accepted as their personal rights but, of far greater importance, as essential to the ultimate fulfillment of the Democrats' evil designs for the transformation of the USA into a totalitarian state.
These evil people cannot allow President Trump to succeed.
If he does, he will shine the light of truth on them, their corruption, their criminal activity, and their evil plans for America, and it will expose them and reveal what they are and what they plan to do.
If he succeeds in "cleaning up" the corruption, it will destroy their power and prevent the fulfillment of their evil plans.
These evil people will stop at NOTHING!
NOTHING is beneath them! NOTHING is beyond what they will do! The violence that they are capable of will shock the world!
They will scorch the earth!
They will wage war!
They will destroy America, the world, and everything in it!
Expect THE WORST from them! You will not be surprised!
I think this FBI “investigation” is merely about getting to 50 votes. A couple of limp-spine Republicans want a little bigger fig leaf before they can work up the nerve to vote to confirm.
Not really. Once the report is completed and delivered to the Judiciary Committee, the next Democrat talking point will be: "Now that we have the report, we will need additional time to thoroughly review it and evaluate the FBI findings." (It won't matter if the report is one page, or one hundred pages.)
Yes, really.
The rats have already gotten part of what they wanted. SCOTUS starts a new session on monday. (first monday in October) He will not be there. I heard somewhere, that a Justice who joins the court after the term begins cannot vote on cases that were deliberated before he joined. Anybody know if that is true?
There are 25 Democrat seats among the 33 Senate seats being contested in November. Keeping the Senate in session makes it harder for any of those incumbents to go home and campaign.
Tonight, President Trump will be starting a series of political rallies in states with Senate elections taking place. His first stop is Wheeling, West Virginia. Joe Manchin is probably losing his mind right now.
I just wish The Feds would indict Prince Andrew of Gnu Yak to add more diesel to the Bonfire...for us in the Former Empire State that would be a saving grace...
If you do not have the votes, you delay. Maybe some of those on the fence wanted some delay. Have the vote this next week and put everyone on record.
Hopefully Trump’s calm demeanor is from favorable internal polling showing him kicking butt in the midterms.
Agreed. One of the comments at the site of the article says it wasn’t the Republicans who delayed, it was Murkowski and Flake.
It is interesting to read the page about her in Wikipedia, in that she basically inherited the Senate seat from her father after he became Alaska governor. And then, of course, being only one of two US Senators to win reelection via a write in campaign after she lost the Republican primary to a Tea Party/Sarah Palin backed candidate. She’s pretty much RINO establishment as you can get, it seems.
Beginning to look like the Deplorables will have to go all Peji Sluta on the Resistance.
One week, two weeks, right now, last week....who cares?
Kavanaugh will be on SCOTUS for twenty years. We’re on a bumpy glide path to confirm him. The bumps are annoying but ultimately don’t matter.
Murkowski is a D for all intents and purposes.
It's sort of true. But there are caveats to that.
1. It's not based on a law of any kind. It's a Supreme Court tradition.
2. The Supreme Court generally tries to avoid scheduling oral arguments for cases with national implications when they only have eight justices. They don't want a 4-4 ruling in a landmark case. Someone here on FR posted a link to the 2018-19 Supreme Court schedule a few days ago, and most of the cases scheduled on the docket for October looked pretty inconsequential to me.
3. In the event a new justice joins the Supreme Court after the session has already begun, the Court has the option of re-opening the deliberations and scheduling another round of oral arguments with the new justice in place just so they'll be sure to get nine voting members in that case.

Audit time.
You are completely correct. Graham told us that they didn’t have the votes. They would have never done this if they had 50 Republican votes on Friday. But, they didn’t and this was the price for getting those votes on the Senate floor.
I think that a Senate floor vote without this so called “FBI Supplemental Investigation” would have resulted in a disaster. The Democrats will tell their supporters that they forced a criminal investigation on a 36 year old unsubstantiated allegation. They did no such thing. The FBI will interview a few more persons, review the testimony, and prepare a report.
I think we may see more Dem votes for Kavanaugh....cuz the report will support Kavanaugh.
Same mistake the Dems made when they were running Hillary.
That explains things. Thanks for your reply.
When you read about what happened in 2010, I don’t doubt that Miller would have been the better one to have had in the Senate. But I wonder if, knowing what happened with that write in campaign by Murkowski and the RINO ass kissing that was undoubtedly involved, it might have been better to have let the Dem have the seat for that one term to get rid of her and then concentrate on winning it back for Miller or any other decent Repub candidate and in turn a way of avoiding the nonsense going on right now.
