According to an email sent by Ford's lawyers and obtained by The New York Times, she would appear as long as senators provide “terms that are fair and which ensure her safety."
In the letter Thursday, Ford's attorneys wrote that it “is not possible" for Ford to testify on Monday. The lawyers added that "the Committee’s insistence that it occur then is arbitrary in any event.”

I was wrong. I was sure Dems had another accusation or story queued up for Monday. Sounds like they’ll string this one out as long as Republicans will allow it before springing the next surprise. My bet is that she can move the goalposts for at least 3 weeks before Republics decide they’ve had enough.
Just use face time. She can sit on the can if she wants to. just remember, you are sworn in.

What is fair is K being allowed to confront and cross examine his accuser. That would not be safe for her. It would get her defamation on the record under oath.
Sounds like her lawyers called her and told her to send an email that could be released to the media for the purpose of keeping this story alive and on the front burner.
It’s a bluff, obviously. She wants to be able to say, “I was willing to testify but never given the chance.” The senate shouldn’t have to schedule their calendar around this harpy. Get on with the vote.
Grassley is required to give a week’s notice for a hearing. Ford could say, okay I will testify next Thurs./Fri. so Grassley would have to give notice today or tomorrow.
Then when it gets close to the hearing day, she’ll renege and say she can’t come until the following week. On and on.
Just another stall job. Show up Monday, period.

The woman is a fraud and liar. Kavanaugh has a clean reputation but he’s a Supreme Court nominee of a Republican president so he must be slimed and stopped from getting the seat! Monday or nothing for this lefty skank and then vote!
Maybe she is trying to induce an aneurysm in Grassley.

I don’t know if the Court’s schedule really has anything to do with this. It would be great to have him confirmed by October 1st when the next SCOTUS term begins, but if he isn’t seated by then it’s not like he can’t vote on any court rulings during the term. He just has to do a lot of work in a compressed schedule to get caught up on those cases.
