Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) called for the vote on Brett Kavanaughs nomination to the Supreme Court to be postponed until the woman accusing him of sexual assault be allowed to speak with senators on the Judiciary Committee.
Corker, who doesn't sit on the committee, told Politico on Sunday that the panel should wait until Christine Blasey Ford can meet with senators.
"I think that would be best for all involved, including the nominee, Corker said of postponing the vote.
If Ford wants her side of the story to be heard, Corker said, she should do so promptly.
Corkers remarks echo those of his fellow Republican colleague Sen. Jeff Flake (Ariz.).
Flake, who is a member of the committee, said Sunday that he is not comfortable voting yes until he hears from Ford.
"And I don't think I'm alone in this, he added.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said he was skeptical about the timing of the new allegations against Kavanaugh but expressed a willingness to hear from Ford.
"If [Christine Blasey] Ford wishes to provide information to the committee, I would gladly listen to what she has to say and compare that against all other information we have received about Judge Kavanaugh," Graham said in a statement.
"If the committee is to hear from Ms. Ford, it should be done immediately so the process can continue as scheduled," added Graham, a member of the Judiciary Committee.
Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said is working to set up separate phone calls with Kavanaugh and Ford before the vote.
"Given the late addendum to the background file and revelations of Dr. Fords identity, Chairman Grassley is actively working to set up such follow-up calls with Judge Kavanaugh and Dr. Ford ahead of Thursdays scheduled vote," a spokesman for Grassley said on Sunday.
Several Democratic members of the committee as well as Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) have called on the Senate to postpone the vote, which is scheduled to take place on Thursday.
I support Mrs. Fords decision to share her story, and now that she has, it is in the hands of the FBI to conduct an investigation. This should happen before the Senate moves forward on this nominee," Sen. Dianne Feinstein(D-Calif.), the top Democrat on the committee, said Sunday.
Ford, California psychology professor, spoke to The Washington Post on Sunday and detailed her allegations against Kavanaugh for the first time publicly.
The now 51-year-old professor at Palo Alto University in California described an incident between her and Kavanaugh when the pair were in high school.
She alleges that Kavanaugh pinned her to a bed one summer in the 1980s and forced himself on her.
Kavanaugh denied the allegation "categorically and unequivocally" on Friday.
to keep the left from total victory
Exactly. If this nomination is derailed, another has to come after the election.
Here, troll, enjoy this one.

Kavanaugh accuser was being prepared back in 2012, ready in case Mitt named Kavanaugh.. ??
And this one, too:
The Legal Advisor for Kavanaughs Accuser Is a Big Time Democratic Donor, Thinks People Who Work...
Guess who the Legal Advisor advised earlier?
Paula Jones
...who despite corroborating evidence, and NOT decades going by, was initially advised to KEEP QUIET.
Funny how that works, right?
Kavanaugh, if grilled in the Senate, ought to LOUDLY answer "It depends on what the meaning of the word, 'is' is. This woman is a plant and a liar. Just like Bill Clinton."
No blue dress, no case.
Besides, isn't it JUST ABOUT SEX?
Fine. Tell her she’ll be placed under oath, swear her in, and let’s hear what she has to say.
My bet is she won’t show.
You'd think this guy would be EXACTLY the type of nominee these GOP hacks would want to see on the U.S. Supreme Court.
Corker and Flake are running their mouths again. #AlertTheDayCareStaff
This is about Corkers hatred of Trump.
If he wants to vote against Kavanaugh, no one is stopping him.
But he wants to turn the Senate into a circus to humiliate a good man.
That says a lot more about Corker than it does about Kavanaugh.

Oh no she feared for her life.....
Its insanity
Even if he did this who cares
Read what her students say about her
No she shouldnt. The countrys time is way more important than this crackpots craziness.
Congratulations on receiving the Understatement of the Week award for this comment.
Her story is devoid of any facts or evidence and she is a big Leftist activist.
With that combination, what could possibly go wrong?
RINOs sounding the Unbattle Cry.
CORKER... an A$$HOLE to the very end.
I will be so glad when Flake and this bastard are gone!!!
And that’s precisely what Corker, Flake and their allies on both sides of the aisle are counting on.
There are only two viable choices when voting for a presidential candidate. If one votes R they have a better chance but, of course, no guarantee of avoiding being overwhelmed by what we clearly see at the local and national level is the Socialist Dem's manner of governing.
The question then is whether one wants some chance or no chance at all?
How one uses that chance is a different but equally important matter.
You know that, of course, but thanks for the question.
rapid Trump impeachment....
They never gave one second of bipartisan support or the benefit of the doubt or giving a break to Trump because they hated him before he started.
Did I ever mention Dems are filthy, vile, disgusting hypocrites?
Now you can see why I don’t watch horror movies. Too shocking and grim. Politics are only another version of those Texas Chainsaw and Freddie movies I never watched.
I stopped adding “but less gory and bloody” a while ago.
I just hope us good guys win the war.
Crackpot to be heard....
Hope she sits there rolling ball bearings in her hands and rambling about doing it all for the strawberries.
And then starts screaming “I loved Brett and he never looked at me. I never forgot that. I want to destroy him. I loved him!”
