Fox News host Tucker Carlson started his show Wednesday night claiming he had a pretty good idea who wrote the controversial anonymous New York Times op-ed and added that representatives from his show had called the White House for comment.
Earlier in the day, The New York Times published an anonymous op-ed that was allegedly written by a senior official in the Trump administration.
We think weve got a pretty good idea who wrote this piece. Weve called the White House for comment on it tonight. But until we confirm the identity, of course, were not going to accuse anybody in public, Carlson said.

The article reeks of arrogance. The one who wrote it believes he/she will not be caught.
I also knew Gerald Ford had a soap opera son because of a wild guess I made on Trivial Pursuit.
The conglomeration known as #FakeNews took to a new level today. A New York Times story claims a White House "senior official" was trying to use 25th Amendment to remove Trump. The only problem? This #NYTimesOpEd writer...does not exist and is not Pence. He is #Anonymous.
comey
It could be in the hundreds
John McCain’s final shot.
“That’s the very first thing that crossed my mind within the first minute. Need some more evidence than that though.”
By some of the words used in the story, people thought it was Pence. The Slimes would have rewritten the article based on the theory that the writing style of the author would be identified.
My own thought is this article is BS and it was written by McCain as a parting shot against Trump. This way when the Slimes is caught they can fall back on something the media can use against Trump.
Anyone could have written it and claimed they are part of the administration.
I could see that white-hating lunatic Sarah Jeong, recently hired by the NYT to be a member of their editorial board, being a member of that collaborative.
I'm inclined to agree ... this on the heels of Woodward's book is an all out assault on the WH by media liberals to drive a wedge between Trump and his staff. Sow doubt and cause dissension ...
Almost certainly Dan Coats.
Longtime GOPe
Not in the Cabinet but considered a “cabinet-level official”.
The article focuses on foreign affairs & national security.
He’s 75, has nothing to lose as this would have been his last stop before retirement.
And the NSA has it and the various drafts...so Trump knows
Trump never Tweets something unless he knows the answer.
Its the "Theory of Tweet"
Doesn’t necessarily have to be a current occupant so I’m guessing Steve Bannon......
Just heard there are about 1200 senior WH officials from Fox morning show
Bob Woodward. The Liar.
Fixed.
Just throwing this out there but could it be possible that McCain wrote this and asked that it be published after his death?
It isnt Pence or the NYT would have burned him by leaking the name. By the same logic, it almost certainly isnt someone important, it has to be someone low enough that the value of leaking their name is less than the story in its current form. JMHO
Okay, just getting up. Surprised the name isn’t out yet.
Surprised that there are 1,200 “Senior White House Officials”. How many were picked by Reince Priebus? Or recommended by Ryan or McConnell, or leftovers from Obama. They all need to be purged and NYT banned from the White House until further notice. I’d like to see action today—a new Friday Night Massacre.
