Signs of a blue wave are increasing as lawmakers return to Washington for their final few weeks of legislative work before the crucial midterm elections.
Democrats have led Republicans by at least 11 points in five of the last six polls asking voters whether they favor a generic Democrat or a generic Republican in the race for Congress.
That margin only slightly trails the Democratic advantage in 2006, when the party won back control of Congress.
Democrats also enjoy a fundraising advantage, one that is perhaps bolstered by polls showing their party is more enthusiastic about turning out to vote this November, figures borne out by higher turnout in Democratic primary contests in states across the country.
After a brutal August that ended with the conviction of his former campaign chairman, a guilty plea from his former personal lawyer and a final feud with Sen. John McCain that played out during memorials to the late Arizona Republican, President Trumps job approval rating has sunk to record or near-record lows in several polls.
Reputable surveys show his approval rating trading at the nadir of his traditional range, between 36 percent and 41 percent. More voters strongly disapprove of Trump than approve in total, a measure of how heavy an anchor he will be around the GOP candidates necks.

Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt.
They may take the House, but I believe Republicans will actually win more seats in the Senate.
But, as a side note, these are “generic” polls. House seats are usually won on the specifics in each district. So, I don’t put a whole lot of faith in “generic” ballot polls.
They won’t take anything the GOP surprise is about to hit.
These people do interesting drugs. They see socialist unicorns, rainbows and blue waves.
I think this is frightening.
We’d better get off of our butts and recruit voters!
We can’t afford to be complacent.
The methodology of every poll I’ve seen has been...suspect. I figure if there was really good news to be had, they wouldn’t need to cook the polls.
My worry is that these articles (becoming much more frequent) are the staging ground as cover for massive voter fraud in the mid-terms.
Hillary has a 98% chance of winning, too!
Rasmussen has the Dems at only a 5 point advantage, and that is only up from a tie at about the beginning of last month. As always, I’d like to see the internals of many of these polls that show the minimum of the eleven point lead, as they were likely at this time in 2016 predicting a romp by Hillary both in the popular vote and Electoral College.
It seems to me that unlike the right, the left didn’t take the Labor day holiday off and instead used the time to launch a political Tet offensive against DJT and we Deplorables. A forced error that helped them gained some ground, IMO.
Trump recently warned a group of evangelical leaders that this midterm election is a referendum on Christianity.
I say it is a referendum on the communist propaganda machine we call the MSM.
I think you are easily spooked by psyops.
As John Paul Jones said: “We have not yet begun to fight”.
A few declassified documents ought to do the trick to show people just how corrupt and treasonous the Democrats are. And how Fake the news really is. That ought to shake up things a little.
It appears this is the lib talking point for today...sigh
But the sheeple won’t get the news from the lamestream media. They won’t report it.
Why do people on our side keep saying that?
A poll has no legal standing in anything, and isn’t a cover to engage in voter fraud.
either way, there will be war
They are saying because the skew in the poll and the accompanying headlines will provide perception coverage when the fraud takes place and impacts actual results. If every poll showed Trump winning and then Hillary won it would cause a closer examination. When the polls indicate a democrat win (they always do), and they win it is already baked in.
I don't doubt that the polls are jacked up. I watched the last election carefully.
I just don't want to see us to lose the house or senate through inaction.
If conservatives are convinced it's in the bag they may not vote.
