Senate Republicans laid out a fast schedule Tuesday for action on Judge Brett Kavanaugh, setting up a Sept. 20 vote in committee which would be followed by action on the full Senate floor the final week of the month.
Barring hiccups, that schedule would put Judge Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court before its Oct. 1 start of the new session.

After today’s hearing, they should have set the date as 7 September. And THAT would be generous. Does anyone think the Democrats on the committee are willing to consider ANYTHING?

Beautiful. We get to watch 3 weeks of the Democrat Organized Crime Family in a massive temper tantrum, followed by a vote to Confirm Kavanaugh while poking a stick in eyes of the Democrat Senators from Red States. To be followed by a push in the Red Zone to get across the goal line for the Election Day. Sounds like a good plan to me.
This is the same party that ram-rodded the Affordable Care Act through Congress without time for reading or debate. We had to pass it to find out what was in it. Seems to me, by dem logic, we need to confirm Kavanaugh to find out what he believes.

The minority has the ability to delay the vote for a week for any reason.
And they will certainly do that (see below stories).
So we can plan on a vote in committee the following week, with a senate floor vote the week thereafter.
I don’t see Kavanaugh confirmed by October 1st.
