WASHINGTONPresident Trump is expected to nominate a former operations officer who played a critical role in the 2011 raid targeting Osama bin Laden to head of the U.S. Special Operations Command as part of a series of military promotions in coming months, according to U.S. officials.
The changes, which include commanders for the Middle East and Europe, will mark the administrations largest imprint on military leadership thus far. The personnel moves stand to affect top officers overseeing conflicts in the Middle East, U.S. policy to counter Russia, the detention center on Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, as well as stealth operations globally.

Changes of Command
IOW, business as usual.
EXACTLY!!!!!
I can't tell you how many people are exiting the military because of it being just that, a social experiment! I work in a flying squadron and we hemorrhaging pilots left and right because they are sick of the paperwork, sick of the deployments, but mostly they are sick of the politically correct BS that is being shoved down their throats by their commanders.
By getting rid of the ones who are doing that, and by putting Commanders in place who actually want the military to be a fighting force again you'll be able to retain the "best of the best!"
Your post is repugnant. Tell me what President knows most about the military.
And female combat air forces commanders. Especially ones who have never flown... At all.
Did you know it was the military leaders who convinced him to run for president?
i hope this is because Trump/Mattis are putting warriors back in charge of war and making warfare the principle aim of the military instead of promoting various social justice ideologies, thus reinvigorating the U.S. as the world’s sole superpower and diminishing the probabilities of war via a much stronger hand to achieve peace through strength.
At last. This sort of thing takes a lot of time because a lot of people are involved and 0bama had eight years to seed the field with his sycophants and fellow travelers. I’d guess Mattis has been very busy. It takes just as much time for policy changes to filter down, but we still have half of this administration left and hopefully another to follow. It’s always easier and quicker to destroy something than to build it back up again.
Cut their benefits instead.
I don’t ever post Q posts but I just checked over there for news and then returned to FR. When I saw i had a ping...ding, ding, ding, BOOM. swamp drain and now military promotions. Here come da judge!

“Sec. 12. In accordance with Article 33 of the UCMJ, as amended by section 5204 of the MJA, the Secretary of Defense, in consultation with the Secretary of Homeland Security, will issue nonbinding guidance regarding factors that commanders, convening authorities, staff judge advocates, and judge advocates should take into account when exercising their duties with respect to the disposition of charges and specifications in the interest of justice and discipline under Articles 30 and 34 of the UCMJ. That guidance will take into account, with appropriate consideration of military requirements, the principles contained in official guidance of the Attorney General to attorneys for the Federal Government with respect to the disposition of Federal criminal cases in accordance with the principle of fair and evenhanded administration of Federal criminal law.”

somebody is going to be tried by Military Tribunal and some are going to Gitmo.
I wonder if this has something to do with the recent meetings regarding prison reform, and I was wondering if any other prisons being given additions or death rows were being added?
Spot on.
People forget flag rank requires Senate confirmation.
Admiral, do you believe a chick should run a warship just because she’s a chick and we need more chicks commanding ships?
Yes? Ok, thanks. No problem. Could you please go through that door over there labeled Retirement and Pension Management?

yep
Yup, didn’t read all of the Builder-In-Chief article. :)
January 2019 is going to be a pretty wild month, is my guess.
I disagree. Trump was a military cadet for five years at the New York Military Academy. He rose to the prestigious Captain of Cadets. He was also the captain of the varsity baseball team.
Trump told his biographer that his five years' education at NYMA gave him more military training than the military could.
So Trump may not be an expert in the military but your claim that he knows "zero about the military" is simply not true.
