To assume that excellence in one area guarantees excellence in another area

To assume anything at that level is a mistake. There are many and varied chances to display flag leadership capabilities before becoming a combat commander.

Notice how all the Obama appointments at this level were quietly whisked in.

Replace any body who was promoted up the ladder by OBUNGHOLE, they only got there by one measurement, how far up OBUNGHOLES rectum their nose got.
That should include all their staffs too, monkey see, monkey do.

Bring back some of the real fighting commanders Obama purged.

Get rid of the wimps and crossdressers at the Air Force Academy, Naval Academy and even West Point (who let that psycho commie even get into the Point and who let him stay in violation of their oath of allegiance to the US?).

It’s a good thing that all the faithful loyal ones who are still left didn’t quit in protest during all the Clinton-Obama years!!

A former battalion commander of mine was promoted to full bird shortly after his command was over. He was proud of his promotion, and he said it's the last officer rank achieved on merit. Getting to the general ranks is all about politics.

That's not to say that all stars are achieved via politics, but I understood his comments.

We have way too many general and admiral billets based on our current force structure. It's time to cull those ranks.

President Reagan didn’t have much (any?) military experience either. But he was smart enough to recognize and take good advice. Anyone thing President Trump isn’t equally smart/shrewd? Personally I’m not worried...

Trump is a great businessman and a fantastic president, maybe the only man alive who can do what he is doing now. But he does not have personal military experience, nor do I believe has he studied the subject. But, he hires the best, and engages with what they tell him. All is good, and nothing is “repugnant”.

I trust Kelly and Mattis to give him the right advice.

Trump may have "hired the best" as a businessman, but he's made a few glaring errors at POTUS: Amarosa, Sessions, etc.

Right. Get rid of the political officers, advance the fighting officers.

Our military has always been a reflection of our society.

Therein lies the problem. There isn’t a corner or crevice of our military culture that hasn’t been infested by feminists, perverts, atheists and islamists. Every training level from Basic to military academies to senior service schools has been spiked with leftists and neocon globalists teaching our military officers how to think and act....or else.

Just like the rest of America.

Your Opinion. Trump knows zero about the military

To say the President knows nothing about the military will obviously take you to Presidents that do. I'm not taken in by this bullshit and neither should you be.

Tell me the President that "knows" the military.

This President has gone well out to understand and I see an attack on him. He is giving his level best and you support the attack.

Clark was running JSOC (Special Operations) at Fort Bragg in preparation for the attack on the Bin Laden compound. The men and the helicopter support from Fort Gordon, were trained to a very fine edge.

Politely, I believe you see “repugnance” and “attacks” were none are intended. Where sphinx used a touch of exaggeration, easily understood and accepted, your comments sound more virulent and excessive. Just my opinion.

Let’s hope President Trump has become a better judge of character over these past two years.

I remember how Obama purged and replaced a lot of military leaders. I believe President Trump is repairing the damage Obama did.

BINGO. We have a winner
