Elections have consequences. Just Senator Elizabeth Warren, who suggested that a 50% to 90% personal income tax rate for Americans is not out of the question. Warren made the shocking admission in an interview with CNBC.
Warren also promised that Democrats will end President Trump’s tax cuts if they take control of Congress in November 2018.
CNBC’s anti-Trump pundit, John Harwood, asked Warren: “If Democrats take the Congress…would you like to see these corporate tax cuts repealed?”
Senator Warren replied: “Yeah, I really want to see them rolled back.”
Question: “Back to 35%?”
Warren replied: “Well, it’s not about the number. Here’s how I look at budgets, and taxes are at the heart of this. A lot of people think they’re just numbers; they’re not. They are the expression of our values. The values of the Republican Party that passed those tax cuts are to give $1.5 trillion away to the richest Americans and the biggest corporations, and let everybody else pick up the crumbs.”
She added: “We need a budget, we need a tax bill that works for all of us. So what I’d like to see is I’d like to see us strengthen America’s middle class.”

Limbaugh says that in their minds the only thing standing between them and their totalitarian socialist utopia where they are in charge is the necessity of winning elections, and they will therefore eventually move to eliminate them.
Not entirely true. Some is born by mgmt, some by the buyer, and some by shareholders, and yes some by consumers. But it is not 100% by consumers, for the same reason that the US won’t see a 10% price decrease this year despite profits going up 10% due to the corporate tax reform bill alone. But yes, it is certainly not good for the economy, but it is not true it all hits the consumer.

Democrats have always been about higher taxes and big spending, and about half the voters in the country are dumb enough to believe that higher taxes and big spending solves all problems.

Nope sorry you are wrong there. The end consumer pays ALL costs of a product or service otherwise there is no product or service. Do you know any managers that work for free or pay to work? When someone buys a product for end use they pay every cost in the chain and that includes all taxes.
Businesses/shareholders DO pay taxes. For the same reason prices of goods didn’t drop 10% this year with corporate tax reform, not all costs can be passed onto consumer. Also ignores tradeoffs, US production cost variance and importing/exporting to other countries with more friendly trade policies.
Awesome running point- perhaps she can add “Because you’re finally doing so well, We’re going to take your homes from you and give them to illegal immigrants and immigrant muslims” Bet that will get them a lot of votes
