Tomi Lahren began her appearance on Fox and Friends this morning by saying she wanted to “clarify” her statements in which she argued against overturning Roe v. Wade. Instead, Lahren doubled down, adding fuel to the fire by saying that conservatives who want to go after Roe “might as well spit on the Constitution.” Said Lahren:
“My problem is with some of my fellow conservatives who have put it out there that we are, quote: “coming for Roe v. Wade. That is a mistake, because we are putting it out there and implying that we are sending a justice to the bench to carry out religious judicial activism which is a mistake and it’s unconstitutional. And if we as conservatives are going to imply that, if that’s going to be our messaging, we might as well spit on the Constitution.”

Why be so vocal about this, even if she feels it? A huge part of her base aren’t big fans of abortion.
That would mean reversing it.

Correct, and that is the constitutional point about Roe v. Wade that many chose to ignore.
If the Constitution did not grant Congress the power to legislate abortion then why is the Supreme Court hearing abortion cases?

Perhaps Tomi can have a real discussion about abortion and what it does to the woman after the abortion. How about we talk about increased depression, drug abuse and suicide rates after the procedure?

Believing in anything is a “faith” thing. Can’t believe killing pre-born babies is wrong without being a Christian and believing in the Bible. Can’t believe killing condemned murderers is wrong without believing in the Bible and being a Christian, oh wait...(scratches head)

The Constitution’s “General Welfare” clause allows Congress to use their "herein granted" powers of legislation to act in the general welfare of the people. (Without adding an additional power of legislation.)
In more modern terms it is like configuring packet filtering - General rules - least privilege All that is not expressly permitted is prohibited
I was reading and living the US Constitution before she was even born. Nothing like getting lectured by a millenial faux-conservative....
I think this is more about right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness than religion.
The problem is, that Toni thinks all people who are against abortion are,because of religion. That is not the case.
Most people I know who are against abortion don’t go to church. They do know the difference between right and wrong.

WHY oh why is sending a pro-life judge to the SCOTUS considered to be “religious judicial activism”.
That said, Roe v. Wade was so poorly decided that it would go away in comportment to the Constitution. One needn’t resort to activism.
And this is a deeply felt issue that Roe simply didn’t settle.

Charm, particularly sexual charm, is an extremely powerful tool in the right (or...wrong) hands.
I am often surprised (and gratefully suprised) that many women (though not all, too be sure!) do not fully understand and exploit this silly Machiavellian dynamic! (Thank goodness for the male species)
I have long suspected that is one of the reasons for the often heard saw that females (especially attractive ones) are superior espionage agents...I fully believe that!
In the medical field, I have seen this in action so many times that my wife, who is also in the field, laugh at it when we see it.
When the various drug/equipment/supply vendors come in, the men are often reasonably young and ruggedly handsome, in their dark blue pinstriped suits, and they appeal to the females for patronage of the product, and they seem to know which female subjects to avoid, and which ones to make a beeline to! If they have to deal with guys, they seem to shift gears and turn on the guy-to-guy dynamic at the flick of a switch!
The female vendor reps, wearing their heels at the ends of their attractive legs, covered by the female equivalent of the blue pinstriped suit with a dress that is short, but usually just a little bit not TOO short (as close to the line of impropriety as they can get!) can have a male doctor eating out of their hand in no time. Literally, feeding the savage beasts by hand! Granted, not in all cases, but...sexual charm is a powerful thing indeed.
In both cases, the vendors have their rolling bags with them...the stereotype can be hilarious to watch if you are in the know. My wife and I watched a movie one night called Love and Other Drugs, and we both nearly died laughing...at least for the first part of the movie. (We both thought the movie would be a comedy classic, until it changed in midstream to a depressing, cancer-life-ending drama. That part destroyed the movie, but...the first part was hilarious!) In it, we recognized ALL the true stereotypes...just really funny! (the movie was about the discovery and introduction of the drug Viagra, shot from a perspective of the pharmaceutical industry!)
