President Trump said Sunday that he is “not happy” with the revised NAFTA deal that his administration has been hammering out with Canada and Mexico and that he doesn't want to sign any new agreement until after the midterm elections in November.
The remarks were aired on Fox News's “Sunday Morning Futures” on a critical day in the U.S. relationship with its neighbors as Canada started collecting tariffs on $12.6 billion worth of U.S. products to hit back at Trump and Mexican voters went to the polls to pick a new president, who will play a key role in shaping any final NAFTA deal. Front-runner Andrés Manuel López Obrador is known for his populist policies.
“NAFTA, I could sign it tomorrow, but I’m not happy with it. I want to make it more fair, okay?” Trump told Fox News's Maria Bartiromo, adding that “I want to wait until after the election” to sign it."

Don’t believe these Lying Leftist Media outlets that proved themselves during the 2016 campaign to be operatives of the DNC and intentional liars. They are presumed to be lying and we should presume what they publish is a lie. The presumption can only be rebutted with the outlet providing clear and convincing evidence they are not lying.

Very good decision. Mexico is about to be taken over by a radical leftist, but actually, I think the guy is more realistic than some of their former less-radical leftists and Trump may be able to deal with him. As for Canada, they’ll posture, but I don’t think it will matter much one way or the other.

If President Trump withdraws and we go back to the pre-NAFTA way of doing business, I would expect to hear a giant vacuum sound - which is jobs and manufacturing coming back to the States in a big way.

Compare the U.S.-Mexico trade figures for 2017 with the early 1990s when the U.S. actually had a trade SURPLUS with Mexico. U.S. exports to Mexico were minuscule in those years. I haven’t seen anyone make a compelling case that we were actually better off back then.
