Most voters fear that political violence is coming from opponents of the presidents policies, just as they did in the second year of Barack Obamas presidency, and nearly one-in-three think a civil war is next.
Thirty-one percent (31%) of Likely U.S. Voters say its likely that the United States will experience a second civil war sometime in the next five years, with 11% who say its Very Likely. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 59% consider a second civil war unlikely, but that includes only 29% who say its Not At All Likely. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Democrats (37%) are more fearful than Republicans (32%) and voters not affiliated with either major party (26%) that a second civil war is at hand.
But 59% of all voters are concerned that those opposed to President Trumps policies will resort to violence, with 33% who are Very Concerned. This compares to 53% and 28% respectively in the spring of Obamas second year in office. Thirty-seven percent (37%) dont share that concern, including 16% who are Not At All Concerned.
Fifty-three percent (53%) are concerned that those critical of the medias coverage of Trump will resort to violence, with 24% who are Very Concerned. Forty-two percent (42%) are not concerned about violence from media opponents, including 17% who are Not At All Concerned.

A Civil War against cupcakes and snowflakes. Sounds one sided!
People are too fat, lazy and stupid to go to war. the extreme and the passionate will burn themselves out.
“What color will the uniforms be?”
What are you wearing now?
I hope it’s during my lifetime, so I can help.
No what will happen will be that california will split to three states and florida will go democrat because of the flood of puerto ricans followed by texas in 10 years and the democrats will have a lock on the country.
And this is why Trump is so important at this time. A conservative SCOTUS will protect us, for a while.
We’re having what you could call a “civil” war right now. What could happen is that it could turn “uncivil”.
Maybe like The Troubles in Northern Ireland.
I think on the whole the extreme and passionate on either side will burn a long time. At least on the internet and social media, ha.
Here’s something—there was no widespread violence or even sustained non-violent protest after the legal murder of unborn people was imposed on every state and while the WWII generation was still fairly mobile and active. If it didn’t happen then I’m not seeing how it ever happens in 2018. Gun confiscation? Maybe. If everything tanks and smart phones stop working then the equation probably changes big time.

I predict euro style coalition government before an outright civil war.
In Mao’s writing, he said he only needed 6% to conduct a successful insurgency.
I'm in the 11%.
IMHO, civil war isn’t going to happen until the feral urban dwellers attempt to forcibly take over and occupy the suburbs en-mass via home invasion and open season on whites in their own houses.
The current level of suburban home invasions is just an annoyance at this time thus no wholesale backlash.
The rural folks won’t get involved until the bridge are crossed into their areas.
Another possibility is a future democrat/socialist president and congress dump constitutional freedoms. That would stir up the hornet’s nest instantly.

I will back Trump for his second term; and, please don’t think of using the appeasement method.
Absolutely. A CME direct hit or EMP that turns off the phones and lights will bring on the great purge. I almost feel sorry for the confiscators should they try to grab all the guns.
Blue shorts and a grey t-shirt in a black wheelchair.
Look what 2 low IQ snipers did to the capitol for weeks.
Now, they have reached the degree of alienation and commitment to destruction that they will escalate "resistance" to genuine obstruction and violence. Notice the new tactic of "occupying" ICE facilities; the small scale terrorist attacks and aggravated menacing against government officials; the overt calls for violence. I suspect these will escalate until some hit and run raid against the government elicits a violent response.
If the upcoming elections do not assuage the leftwingers, and if Congress remains in republican hands, then I would expect trouble beyond what we have seen so far.
Bingo...
Agreed. The way to get it done for their side is just to keep the most people as fat, dumb, and happy as possible and just watch society slip down the cultural slope gradually and without unrest.
