Rush just announced Anthony Kennedy is retiring
Effective 31 July 2018.
The current term is about over. Won’t reconvene until October
Hows the Wise Latinas diabetes ?
I can hear liberal heads exploding on my TV right now (and I don't even have it on!)
Ginsburg isnt going to retire.
She wants to die on the bench.
The GOP needs to push thru a replacement ASAP.
The term is up before he retires. Next term is October.
Not good.

The facts......
Issues
In general terms, Kennedy has voted with the conservative side of the U.S. Supreme Court on these issues:
campaign speech
Establishment Clause
partial birth abortion
federalism[3]
criminal procedure, such as Kyllo v. United States and DA's Office for the Third Judicial Dist. v. Osborne
business law, such as Nevada Dep't of Human Resources v. Hibbs
But Kennedy has voted with the liberal side of the Court on these issues:
Roe v. Wade
pornography
death penalty, such as Roper v. Simmons
homosexual agenda
parental rights
rights of enemy combatants
global warming
use of foreign law to interpret the U.S. Constitution
immigration[4]
But she’s only 85... has at least another 30 years to go!
she should be subject to competency tests including speaking at each session to illustrate she can formulate complete sentences.
He can appoint someone immediately.
The posts above seems to indicate that most people seem to not understand how momentous this is. This is in the top two or three things that President Trump can do to shape the country in the whole 8 years of his presidency. Maybe the top, as it is replacing Justice Kennedy, who was the 5th vote that swung back and forth.
Thank God for his abundant grace.
I thought they did away with the filibuster for supreme Court nominees. I thought they tried to filibuster Gorsuch, and the Senate voted to abolish filibusters for supreme Court. And then moved on to the actual vote to confirm Gorsuch. That’s my recollection anyway.
Republicans ended the filibuster when Dems tried with Neil Gorsuch.
Now, Dirth Bader Ginsberg...
She's already dead. She just doesn't know it yet.
Probably about the 10th or more time this kind of information has popped up as newsworthy. Wake me when he actually retires and please not before.
"I Have Never Killed Any One, But I Have Read Some Obituary Notices with Great Satisfaction" -- Clarence Darrow
I was under the impression that the Dem’s in the Senate tried to pull some BS with Gorsuch, or something during that time frame, and ruined their chances of being able to hold up any confirmations or votes. Can anyone advise?
You’re right he’s unpredictable and dangerous. Any number of judges are better than him.
