Move over, George Washington. Nice try, FDR. You did your best, Abraham Lincoln, but theres a new candidate making his way to the top of the Greatest Presidents of All Time heap. In a recent interview with The Guardian, David Lynch suggests Donald Trump might go down as one of the greatest presidents in history. Not because of any legislative, humanitarian or geopolitical action on his part, of course, but because Trump successfully disrupted the system in a revelatory way.
He could go down as one of the greatest presidents in history because he has disrupted the thing so much. No one is able to counter this guy in an intelligent way, explained the Twin Peaks creator. While Trump might not be Lynchs personal pick for POTUS (he believes he voted for Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson, but isnt positive), the presidents effect on politics could make it possible for other outsiders to get in the game and govern effectively. Our so-called leaders cant take the country forward, cant get anything done, Lynch says. Like children, they are. Trump has shown all this. Yeah, thats not exactly what the phrase one of the greatest presidents in history suggests at first blush, but hey, its all certainly something to think about.

Now watch the liberals ( at least the artsy elite) freak, spin, and lash out over this... ha!
Ive always liked David Lynch and his incredible films. Cant even pick a favorite... He was never a big politics guy, but Ive read that he was a big Reagan supporter back in the 80s...
I hope you savor what he made, because if this is construed as any kind of compliment, he’s done.
Heck, this is the guy who George Lucas personally offered the reins of Return Of The Jedi to... and Lynch turned it down on the spot!
DAM! Ah, he’s probably set anyway and can make his own movies or like you said, do his off the mainstream movies.
Plus in the end, if you’re that important and talented, $$ speaks louder than politics most of the time.
Not to rain on your parade, but why should I care what David Lynch thinks about President Trump any more than I should care about what some leftist actor/director/producer thinks of him? Entertainers should entertain and not be political pundits.
FDR was a lowlife POS fascist.
FDR was one of our greatest Presidents - ended the Depression, won the Second World War and made America a superpower.
Pretty incredible if you think about it. None of todays politicians are in his class of command his stature.
We differ on this point.
David Lynch - Not a boring and predictable Hollyweird clone. No virtue signaling for him.
He needs to huddle with James Woods and produce something new. David Mamet can write something for them.
Trump already is one of the greatest. He has accomplished more for American citizens in a year than most, since RR,in their entire presidency.
“FDR......Pretty incredible if you think about it”... ..
FDR didn’t have all the “crazies” on the left resisting him nor the EXTREMELY BIASED media helping them. No, FDR couldn’t hold a candle to Trump as he continues winning over those who resist his efforts on every front. FDR got his “greatness” by the people of this country pulling together to win WWII. I pray Trump survives to complete TWO terms, it will almost completely destroy the left but unfortunately they will more than likely survive, living on to go after the next and the next.
Excuse me, but WTF???
Bagster
All the soviet agents in his administration would agree. Why was Truman added to the ticket?Whom did he replace?
“Trump already is one of the greatest. He has accomplished more for American citizens in a year than most... ”
Just imagine what Trump could do if the leftist crazies also got behind him and started trying to MAGA.
Reality101:
Thanks to his economic policies, FDR extended the depression an additional 6-8 years. It would have ended MUCH sooner had he done nothing. (UCLA Research Paper)
FDR, a leftwing communist (like W. Wilson) conspired with Stalin to give him Eastern Europe that plunged those nations into the darkness of Communism for 40 years.
Stockpirate was absolutely correct when he described FDR as a POS. In reality, he was even worse.
True, cool story.
Parts of the movie Blue Velvet were filmed in Wilmington NC. During that time, I worked at an animal shelter that had a wildlife rescue & rehabilitation group. One day I answered the phone, & the person on the other end had a strange request. They were looking a robin (bird) that had just recently died. I was really believing the call was a prank, but the person on the other end eventually convinced me they were real.
Anyway, within a couple of days there just so happened to be a rescue robin that died. So off to the Greyhound station I go with cardboard shoebox. It was hilarious trying to explain to the ticket agent what was in the box & why. So off goes mister dead robin to Wilmington.
If you watch the movie, one of the closing scenes is a robin lands on the back of a park bench & looks around. It is SO obvious this bird is fake or dead. But that was our bird.
During the coordination stages of trying to find a dead robin & get him to Wilmington, I talked to several different people on the movie end. There was a man I spoke with who was very aloof, kinda talked in riddles, but was very nice. I cannot say with certainty, but I believe I was speaking with David Lynch himself.
My bad. The bird is on the windowsill. I haven’t watched this movie in many, many years.

Interesting.
Lynch... “But I dont like the Democrats a lot, either, because Im a smoker, and I think a lot of the Democrats have come up with these rules for non-smoking.”
FDR outlawed ownership of goldb then stole people’s gold from them. He ordered tens od thousands of head of cattle, pigs, sheep killed and buried to prop up prices.
Two days before Pearl Harbor all aircraft carriers were ordered out to sea to protect them. He knew
