Original Guardian article is pretty good, too (linked in above article) and a lot of smaller news outlets like this one are focusing on his Trump comments (Lynch has an auto-biography coming out).

Now watch the liberals ( at least the artsy elite) freak, spin, and lash out over this... ha!

I’ve always liked David Lynch and his incredible films. Can’t even pick a favorite... He was never a big politics guy, but I’ve read that he was a big Reagan supporter back in the 80s...

I hope you savor what he made, because if this is construed as any kind of compliment, he’s done.

Not to rain on your parade, but why should I care what David Lynch thinks about President Trump any more than I should care about what some leftist actor/director/producer thinks of him? Entertainers should entertain and not be political pundits.

David Lynch - Not a boring and predictable Hollyweird clone. No virtue signaling for him.

He needs to huddle with James Woods and produce something new. David Mamet can write something for them.

Trump already is one of the greatest. He has accomplished more for American citizens in a year than most, since RR,in their entire presidency.

I can see Lynch being conservative or at least libertarian. One thing though, he really could depict liberals well in his films....

True, cool story.
Parts of the movie Blue Velvet were filmed in Wilmington NC. During that time, I worked at an animal shelter that had a wildlife rescue & rehabilitation group. One day I answered the phone, & the person on the other end had a strange request. They were looking a robin (bird) that had just recently died. I was really believing the call was a prank, but the person on the other end eventually convinced me they were real.

Anyway, within a couple of days there just so happened to be a rescue robin that died. So off to the Greyhound station I go with cardboard shoebox. It was hilarious trying to explain to the ticket agent what was in the box & why. So off goes mister dead robin to Wilmington.

If you watch the movie, one of the closing scenes is a robin lands on the back of a park bench & looks around. It is SO obvious this bird is fake or dead. But that was our bird.

During the coordination stages of trying to find a dead robin & get him to Wilmington, I talked to several different people on the movie end. There was a man I spoke with who was very aloof, kinda talked in riddles, but was very nice. I cannot say with certainty, but I believe I was speaking with David Lynch himself.

Interesting.
Lynch... “But I don’t like the Democrats a lot, either, because I’m a smoker, and I think a lot of the Democrats have come up with these rules for non-smoking.”

Not really sure who David Lynch is outside of being a filmmaker, but I di agree.

I’ve been saying for a long time that Donald Trump will be one of our most consequential presidents.

Lynch has made some scary, perverse stuff, but not many know he made a G-rated film for Disney about an old man who drives his tractor trailer several hundred miles to see his estranged brother.

Lynch is a maverick, like his surrealist exemplar, Salvador Dali, was a maverick. The one thing the Democrats fear most are mavericks. Half their propaganda effort is aimed at suppressing defections and if you are basing your paradigm on Big Lies and are running out of time due to humongous quantities of Internet cross talk, defections are a serious worry.
