What a fine-tuned machine our state is when it comes to clamping down on its own residents, as witnessed Thursday when Bostons Licensing Board took a shot across the bow of a local small business owner.
Naveen Kapoor, owner of the Quality Market in Brighton, was caught on camera moving beer from that store down the street to his other shop, Quality Liquors in Allston.
He told the Licensing Board that he was transferring the suds because Quality Liquors had run out of several beer brands.
That is a big no-no. According to the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission, All licensed retail establishments, including holders of Special Licenses (so-called One Day Licenses), must purchase their alcoholic beverages from a licensed Massachusetts wholesaler, manufacturer, winery shipment licensee, farmer brewery, farmer distillery or holder of a Special Permit issued by the ABCC.

53. When can I start selling and allowing my customers to drink alcoholic beverages on my newly added patio area? No sales or consumption of any alcoholic beverages can be allowed by the license holder in the patio area unless and until the changes to their location are approved by both the LLA, the ABCC and ...
Government is one big buzzkill.
Massholes run amok.
Booze and smokes have an extra degree of nazi treatment by the gov imposed on them. You’d have to say drinking and smoking are only “quasi-legal”.
We have the same rules (TABC) here in Texas.
Taxation is theft
Big Government, Freedom always suffers and this is no surprise in Dem MA.
“According to the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission, All licensed retail establishments, including holders of Special Licenses (so-called One Day Licenses), must purchase their alcoholic beverages from people who give us kickbacks.”
The left wants the government to own all the means of production. It wants to own all businesses and to be the sole employer. It can’t do that just yet, because the people are not sufficiently sheepified. So it takes what it can, and settles for regulating businesses, effectively forcing them to work for the state.
Back when I was in college, KS was a "dry state," the only places you could purchase liquor by the drink was in "private clubs." Restaurants that wanted to serve liquor had to set up a separate section (often just roped off,) and you had to purchase a "membership" to be able to sit in that area, to order drinks. If you weren't seated in that area, you couldn't order drinks.
While this is no longer the case, liquor stores have to have "extra-special" licenses, that effectively makes the state of Kansas a "partner." The best part? They're NOT allowed to sell anything that doesn't contain alcohol. Want chips, ice, glasses or plastic cups, or even a bottle opener or cork-screw? Can't buy it at a liquor store! Many liquor stores will have an adjacent store (with its own entrance) to sell other stuff.

Honest to god for all the bragging about “freedom”, “exceptionalism” and all around wonderfulness of America, we’ve got to be the most corrupt westernized nation on earth.
They especially dislike someone enjoying something that they don't.
A favorite trick by bar owners in Ohio who are required to purchase all their liquor from a state liquor outlet. Was to buy cases of cheaper liquor of a similar alcoholic proof level in Illinois and carefully transfer the contents into open bottles having the the Ohio tax stamp of the same proof level.
The inventory was legally bought & paid for.
IF he has multiple locations, why can’t he move inventory from one store to the other, as long as he keeps explicit records?
Don’t ask me, who knows why TABC has the rules it has.
I am not even allowed to by beer on sale at Krogers. I must buy beer from one distributor in Galveston County. I can’t even buy beer from a distributor in another county.
The rules are nuts and one of the reasons I sold my bar last year.
These east coast states that have commie control over liquor are hillarious
That’s one thing CA has right
You can get beer and wine ANYWHERE
Boston?
Leftists don’t care about much at all, except their OWN power.
Watch out SANE Massachusetts people, the tyrants are comin for your guns again.
I was stationed in Wichita from 1976 - 1981 and I sure remember those liquor laws.
Those private clubs were incredible. You had to buy a membership and then you had to bring in your own bottle of booze or buy one there (I think). You then had to buy your own booze back from them and then when you left that bottle had to remain in the club with your name on it. It was an absolute mess and that is why most of the time I just partied at the NCO Club on base since it was a federal enclave and didn't follow the state laws.
