Ex-French president Sarkozy held on Gadhafi claims

Former French president Nicolas Sarkozy was placed in custody on Tuesday as part of an investigation into allegations he received millions of euros in illegal campaign financing from the regime of the late Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi.

A judicial source with direct knowledge of the case told The Associated Press that Sarkozy was being held at the Nanterre police station, north-west of Paris. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.

Sarkozy has vehemently and repeatedly denied wrongdoing in the case, which involves funding for his winning 2007 presidential campaign.

Though an investigation has been underway since 2013, the case gained traction some three years later when French-Lebanese businessman Ziad Takieddine told the online investigative site, Mediapart, that he delivered suitcases from Libya containing 5 million euros ($6.2 million) in cash to Sarkozy and his former chief of staff Claude Gueant.

Well, consider it an icebreaker for Hillary Clinton and possibly even Barack Obama. It’s not unheard of anymore.

What???
Sarkozy was Monsieur Coolio back in the Obama days.
Que sera sera!
Maybe he was plotting another political comeback (aka Silvio Berusconi of Italy) and someone wants to drag him through the mud first.

Maybe he was plotting another political comeback....

I recall reading somewhere a few months back that Sarkozy was thinking of a political comeback. Seems like the payback has superseded the comeback.

Any bets on the number of offshore bank accounts funded by petrodollars for the globalists/dim/rino et al pols and their families? And media?

What other explanations are there why American born citizens would advocate open borders, especially knowing that guns and drugs are being brought into their country?

There are none. They have been bought and sold like slaves to the Almighty Dollar.

He was with The Republicans (French: Les Républicains; LR) which is a centre-right political party in France. But like Obama he did trash Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu all the time.

So, he took money from Gadhafi and then helped murder him?

What do Soros, Hillary and Obama have to say about this?

He could probably shed some light on the liberals in Canada, too.

I think he had to pay homage to/get the blessing of, the man behind the curtain in Canada, before he could run for POF.

IIRC, Sarkozy had a higher common-sense quotient than most other leaders, particularly in Europe.

That's probably why they're targeting him.

Maybe I’m just jaded these days, but, when I read the posted snippet, I sensed a bit of preemptive joy emanating from the AP staffers, as if they had written a template for when they get to change the name from Sarkozy to Trump and the date from 2013 to 2016.

“We came, we saw, he died.”

That she said that, and laughed when she said it, should have immediately ended any consideration of her for the Presidency. Very disturbing.

Yeah, as Secretary of State, it’s not polite (nor politic) to visibly enjoy dancing on fresh graves. But the D’s say they aren’t like that. They’re supposed to be so smart, measured, and nuanced. Yeah, right. Tell it to your poster-girl: Hillary.
