GOP Senators Send Trump ‘Amnesty-Or-Shutdown’ Threat
Breitbart ^ | Jan 18, 2018 | by NEIL MUNRO

Posted on 01/18/2018 6:47:56 PM PST by Jim Robinson

Pro-amnesty GOP Senators are working hand-in-glove with Democrats to block a government budget until President Donald Trump agrees to break his campaign promise and his presidency by amnestying millions of wage-lowering illegal immigrants.

The hostage-taking is being fronted by a group of GOP legislators, led by Sen. Jeff Flake and Sen. Lindsey Graham, who announced Wednesday they would not allow 2018 funding for the Pentagon until Trump approves an amnesty, saying:

It was easy to support the EPA in the beginning, the pollution of waterways was terrible. Unfortunately once a bureaucracy is formed it tries to keep on expanding forever and ever even if the original reason for its existence ceases to exist. The air and water can never be clean enough to satisfy a bureaucrat.

Unfortunately, the EPA charter gave it far too much power. Power it has abused repeatedly.

Not sure at all that I was right, think I was wrong. Today I am reading it is unclear how the military gets paid after February 1.

RE Military. From another board, a prayer request from military officer’s wife.

Please pray for all of us affected.. We do not want them to back down because of daca but this will damage some and destroy other families..

It means families such as mine will not have a income.. Loans and bills come due but no way to pay..

My husband will still put on his boots, report to the base and do his job.. No pay but he will do it.. When they fund bill then back pay is done in increments.. So no lump sum just to pay bills off to be immediately back on track..

What a nightmare..

Thanks, I’m going to pass that on. I remember going thru two government shutdowns while a military dependent. The first we were overseas in base housing so okay. The second I was working and we had savings so made it, not happily.

It would be so much better if shutdowns stopped congressional pay instead of military.

It doesn’t matter one way or the other - the point is that everyone has a sacred cow when it comes to a threat of government shutdown.

For liberals the sacred cow is welfare and other redistributive programs, for conservatives the sacred cow is the military and national security.

If everyone, even conservatives, have a reason they fear a government shutdown, then the threat of s shutdown works as a blackmail.

We conservatives, of all people (who believe the government is too big by twenty fold anyway), need to call the liberals’ bluff and embrace a shutdown - the more real and widespread the shutdown the better for us.

After all, the liberals are the ones addicted to government, not us, right?

We can weather a cold turkey withdrawal from government a lot longer than they can. They will fold as soon as they see they have to give up other peoples’ money.

When it comes to national security, don’t worry. If there was a real threat on American soil, Trump could raise a super militia overnight via Twitter just by appealing to gun owning hunters, first responder and law enforcement types and active and inactive military - perfectly willing to fight for free.

It breaks my heart to see so-called conservatives acting like a government shutdown would be unthinkable - it would be a huge win.

What a nightmare..

Folks used to have what was called a saving account that one could dip into in the lean times.

It is quite an old concept these days.

Illegal Aliens Quietly Being Relocated Throughout U.S. on Commercial Flights
Judicial Watch ^ | JANUARY 19, 2018
Posted on 01/20/2018 6:50:01 AM PST by UMCRevMom@aol.com

Immigrants entering the United States illegally through the southern border are quietly being relocated to different parts of the country on commercial flights, high-ranking Homeland Security officials told Judicial Watch this week. In the last few days alone, groups of illegal aliens boarded planes at airports in Texas and Arizona accompanied by a taxpayer-funded government escort in civilian clothes to avoid drawing attention. The first flight originated at Valley International Airport in Harlingen, Texas and was bound for Minneapolis. The second left from Tucson International Airport and arrived in Salt Lake City, Utah, federal sources said. In both locations the illegal aliens appeared to be in their late teens and were escorted by a Health and Human Services (HHS) chaperone. Judicial Watch reached out to HHS for comment but did not hear back from the agency.

The illegal aliens wear red HHS wrist bands and receive “the gold glove treatment,” according to a veteran federal official, who added that the undocumented immigrants get priority boarding ahead of all other passengers, including law enforcement personnel. “It is shameful and dangerous,” said a seasoned Homeland Security agent with direct knowledge of the secret operations. Labor personnel from front-line Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agencies have complained about the cost and security risk of flying illegal alien minors to any destination of their choosing within the U.S., according to a longtime Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official present at the meetings. One of the closed-door meetings, late last year, included President Donald Trump and his chief of staff, John Kelly.

I point out to you that Mitch McConnell is not on the side of Conservatism, and you attack me and now Trump.

What has that to do with Mitch? Is it supposed to make Mitch look better? It doesn’t.

It still leaves him a man that trashed Trump when he was running, a man who openly trashed Judge Moore, and a man that failed to capitalize on having a man that would sign Conservative legislation for a full year.

In a full year, McConnell and Ryan put one big piece of legislation on Trumps desk. At that rate Mitch will put only four large pieces of legislation on Trump’s desk in Trump’s first term. He should do that every six months.

Posting this tripe about Trump here was pathetic, but then you were desperate to deflect from McConnell’s record.

You offered it up to say, “See, nobody is perfect. Don’t be so hard on Mitch.”

I’ll put Trump’s record up against any other republican at this time. Further, Mitch is the worst speaker we’ve had from our side in 50 years.

How many gotcha stories have come up about Trump, that days later aren’t seen in a different light.

To toss it in here like that wasn’t reasoned.

If we had had three men dedicated to MAGA as president, speaker, and senate majority leader, we would have gotten a large piece of legislation each month this last year.

That we didn’t, was a massive failed opportunity.

This year men on Capital Hill will be less inclined to back meaningful legislation, because there is another election this fall. And if we lose the majority in the Senate or House, our window of opportunity will close for the remainder of Trump’s first term.

Last year was a major screw up on the part of Ryan and McConnell.

We may never have an opportunity like that again.
