McDonald's to kick off Dollar Menu this week, priming it for massive growth in 2018
CNBC ^ | January 2, 2018 | Sarah Whitten

McDonald's looks pretty golden-headed into 2018.

The combination of McDonald's planned rollout of fresh, never-frozen beef, its recent relaunch of its Dollar Menu and woes at other restaurant chains could help the restaurant boost its same-store sales and grab more market share in the industry.

The burger giant's stock ended 2017 up more than 41 percent, the largest stock move in the restaurant industry during the year, and more than one analyst is calling for more gains in the new year.

Yes, it keeps them taking orders, and others gathering and disbursing the food.

This year I’m growing tired of the price of K-cups and going to replace my Keurig with a press type coffee maker.

Try Cowboy Coffee.

Without McD’s in Ukraine I’d be without a great deal. They are hugely, hugely popular here. And I say thank God for them. Thank God. But once I return to the States it’s gonna be “no thanks, good friend,” I’m going to a diner.

Mickey D’s fries were never the same once they stopped frying them in beef tallow.

“Ugh,they are dreadful IMHO.”

You’re right, they could really boost sales if they went back to frying the fries in beef fat like they use to before Moochelle ruined it for everybody.

In the good old days, McDonald’s fries were cooked in beef tallow. But customer demand for less saturated fat prompted a switch to vegetable oil in the EARLY ‘90s.

They are all much holier than you and me.

I agree. I like McD’s. It's fast and cheap. The fries are really good.

If I want a great burger I'll grill my own, but if I'm I a hurry and ready to settle for ok, McDonald's works for me.

I wish they would get rid of the TV screen menus that flip back and forth between the menu I’m trying to read and a picture of something that will most certainly look nothing like what I’m trying to order! I can’t ever find what I’m looking for on their new menus.

Yikes!

I looked up a Burger King chocolate shake, whose sugar content is even scarier. These days, those total about 1/2 of a shake (I share w/ family) about once a month, but, not so far back, I used to buy 2x the size ultra-rich shakes at a specialty ice cream shop, and probably consumed 4-5 BK shakes & 10 Whoppers a month, while traveling. How am I 25 lbs. overweight and not 125 lbs. overweight, I do not know...?

Not only is the food good, but they are the defacto homeless outreach for most communities in the People’s Soviet of Washingtonistan.

Nobody is subsidizing them either. They are just serving them and cleaning up their messes, and they aren’t complaining about it.

I eat there, and the food is better than good. It’s the least expensive, best tasting protein available for folks on a budget. The coffee is excellent too.

It’s a great business, and it used to be a great first place to start a career before some socialist decided McDonalds needed to provide ‘living wage jobs’ to 30 somethings that weren’t qualified to work anywhere else.
