Former Minnesota congresswoman and 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann said she is considering a run for Al Franken's Senate seat.
Background: Franken is officially resigning from Congress on Tuesday following a string of sexual misconduct allegations, with Minnesota's Democratic Lt. Gov. Tina Smith to take over the seat on Wednesday. Smith plans to run for the remaining two years of Franken's term in a special election in November.
Bachmann told televangelist Jim Bakker last week that she has received calls about the race and is praying on whether to return to Washington at a time when "the swamp is so toxic."
Key quote: "There's also a price you pay and the price is bigger than ever because the swamp is so toxic ... My husband and I aren't money people. And that's the thing."

They will attack her husband; they have done it before.
The letter has been submitted to Dayton and becomes effective this afternoon.
Dual citizenship, Swiss and U.S.
Wimpy is iconic.
Still is to a large degree.
She burned everyone who worked for her during her Presidential talk.
Norm Colman would make a much better pick.
When’s the last time Minnesota went for a Republican presidential candidate?
Running a woman and proud Christian like Michelle would be a smart move given she would be replacing a disgraced sex predator.

Coleman lost to Franken.
Agreed, MN is the bluest state of the upper midwest... only IL is more locked blue due to chicago.
However Trump showed that MN is winnable, he actually won MN huge on election day, only early banked voting kept MN from going Trump.
However, I am not sure if she can pull it off, Trump won not by running as a hard conservative, but by simply saying I will put america first... Her history will make that type campaign difficult, because she can be painted as too conservative for MN.
Why is that? I heard her speak once (many years ago) and she was excellent. She sort of lost me later because she seemed to go off track (or maybe her message was completely distorted and twisted by a hostile press), but shes sounded pretty sensible recently.
I dont know a thing about politics in your state, and Im not challenging you - Im just curious. Thanks!
Well, neither should guys IMO.
Yeah, shes on her way.
Geez...
My thoughts EXACTLY.
Boy...If you want to TAKE AWAY any credibility, just talk with Jim Bakker.
I've seen his show a few times. For just a few minutes each time.
Holy Cow, it's like East Podunks local cable access programing.
And Jim needs to stick something in his wifes mouth to shut her up.
She never shuts up...and the stupidity she spews.
Oh I know but Bachman would get creamed.
Even GOP co-workers here in MN wouldn’t get her support.
Would love to see her be able to pull this off.
One of the worlds most nauseating photos. Obama always ate like a total slob, but that is sort of a cultivated thing among leftists. They think it makes them look like one of the people, even though the people have much better table manners than the rich leftists pursuing their votes.
In a democrat stronghold, a disgraced sexual predator is a resume enhancer.
RunMichelleRun!
That is ONE MICHELLE I’d like to see run for office!
DIdn’t she already lose an election?
