You may love chocolate, but you should probably start preparing yourself to say goodbye to it: Scientists at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have predicted that cacao plants are likely to go extinct as early as 2050 due to climate change. But theres one glimmer hope on the horizon: Marsthe candy company which makes such chocolate treats as the Snickers and the Twix barhas teamed up with the University of California on a new method that may help save future cacao crops.

Remember When The NY Times Predicted The End Of Snow?
{why is anyone even listening to these idiots/liars?}
In 2000, climate scientist David Viner with the University of East Anglia told reporters, Children just arent going to know what snow is. Viner argued global warming would make snowfall a very rare and exciting event.
Fast-forward 14 years, and the U.K. was hit with its wettest winter on record. The British isles were pelted with rain and snowfall despite the fact government climate experts were predicting a dry winter.
It has been below freezing here for many days, in deep south, in Texas! We need some glowbull warming!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Using Chocolate as the evidence of globull warming?
Well it got my attention even after all that chocolate last week!
In the year 2525....if man is still alive...
Last summer I was watching same “nature” show and a graphic passed across the screen claiming that - because of global warming - 150 or 200 plant and animal species become extinct every DAY. I did the math at the time, and it came out to about 60,000-70,000 extinctions a year. I wondered how many of these extinctions they could identify with any degree of certainty, and my guess was probably fewer than 100 of the alleged 60,000.
According to global warming alarmists, global warming will kill everything except dangerous insects and viruses, which will somehow thrive.
Short-term weather anomalies can wreak havoc with crops, but I don’t see how a one-degree change in annual temperature is going to kill a species. Does it matter to a cacao plant if the average temp is 82 degrees instead of 81 degrees?
SCIENTIST STUDY TAX 25%
is needed to protect you from global disasters.
The extinct Dodo Bird was the savior of mankind.
It is now dead.
The Cocoa plant is near extinction too.
We scientists just need only a 25% tax on your money. But we will save you from global danger!
Hmmm, something that is only commercial grown within 10 degrees of the equator won’t be able to survive 15 degrees from the equator if the climate gets warmer?
I’m calling BS, I am...
I’ve seen a cacao tree as far north as Fullerton CA.
I have written to Feinstein and Harris asking them to support the funding. Thanx for updating the estimate. Ee can’t have too much chocolate. In fact I agree with Bernie Sanders, chocolate should be free to all. For the medicinal value.
If you peons still refuse to submit to our authority and turn over your wealth, we shall also predict the extinction pizza - and if necessary, beer.
Don’t make us do it. Submit now.
You start hoarding chocolate for me, and I’ll start hoarding Sammiches for you - and we’ll swap in a covert location at a future date! ;)
Hmmm...... Has Free Republic become a dating site?
the radiator pipe is frozen in my house, no heat.
The gas oven still works..got a few space heaters going on.
was -7 here in SE MA this morning.
It may go above freezing next week some time.
How does a pipe running hot water with the heat set to 70 freeze?
ugh
Only if Diana agrees to iron Laz shirts.

How does global cooling affect cocao plants? We’re going into a normal cycle of global cooling that may last quite awhile. The global warming would be much better!
