Mickey Mouse. Nick Saban. Any Other Republican.

Those were some of names that got write-in votes in the Alabama Senate election as voters suggested their own alternatives to Sen.-elect Doug Jones and Republican Roy Moore in the Alabama Senate race.

An unusually high number of voters — 22,852 people, or 1.6 percent of the 1.3 million people who went to the polls — opted for a write-in candidates, sometimes showing their humor and frustration along the way. “Anyone Else,” “Neither,” and “Any Other Republican” were among the written submissions.

Many of the submission were more serious as some voters followed the lead of Sen. Richard Shelby, who said he could not vote for Moore and was instead writing in the name of another Republican. …

Why did President Trump originally endorse Luther Strange over Roy Moore?

I'll tell you why: Because he knew damn well that Roy Moore would have been an obstructionist pain in the ass who would have refused to support Trump's agenda in Washington unless it was 100% in compliance with Moore's view of a what a Constitutional government should stand for.

I still wonder if Moore would have even bothered to move to Washington and show up for Senate votes if he had won, or if he would have been absent for 99% of the votes that came up during his term.

The "dummies who were taken in by the lie" probably despise Roy Moore even more right now.

Why the hell didn't he take the lie detector test BEFORE the election?

he probably didn’t take a polygraph at all. where are the results? why didn’t he take it before the election? the whole thing is suspicious

we blew it in the primary, plain and simple. we’ve got to be smarter moving forward.

bannon lost us a senate seat and gave it to a baby murderer. if you think that’s patriotic, then I question your patriotism.

wake up.

Since he attested to the polygraph in a sworn affidavit I'd be inclined to believe him. Moore may have plenty of other flaws, but I don't think he'd go to those lengths by filing a false affidavit.

There were two things about the polygraph story that raise big red flags with me:

1. He didn't take it -- or mention it -- until after he had lost, when it would have been a very powerful statement to make before the election.

2. He filed the sworn affidavit in support of his legal challenge to stop the election results in Alabama from being certified. The legal basis of his challenge was a claim of voter fraud that affected the outcome of the election. His polygraph about the accusations that were made against him during the campaign had absolutely nothing to do with voter fraud.

Based on all of this, I think it's safe to say that this guy has always been just a loser and a malcontent who was probably completely unfit to serve in a legislative body where representatives have to compromise just to get anything done.

No. You wake up.. The only way to dislodge the Establishment is to primary EVERY one of them.. If you don't know that or don't like that then you are the problem, not Bannon.

Steve Bannon is a patriot and wants to crush the RINO Establishment and all the yapping ankle biters will have to just STHU.

I certainly hope Steve Bannon learned something in Alabama.

I hope Republican primary voters learned something nationwide.

Letting a baby butcher win because the other candidate doesn’t have “Winner” written on him is sick. It’s a condition of the soul. “The guy who would try to stop the baby butchering isn’t cool enough for the likes of me, so let the babies die. My coolness outweighs the lives of the little ones, any day.”

Vote for whoever you want, but you can’t run away from what is in your soul. God says, “If my people, which are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray, then I will hear from Heaven and will heal their land.” Ronald Reagan brought up that Bible passage.

Sure sounds a lot different than, “God, give me somebody perfect wrapped up in a bow, who will appeal to the followers of Molech just as well as to Your followers, and then I will vote for him. Otherwise... just forget it. I’m too holy for anyone else You put on the ballot.”

The election is over. But if people are looking inside themselves, this would be a good time to ask yourselves who you think you are.

I can tell you right now, with the enemies we’re up against, having God on our side is not a luxury; it is the only lifeline we have. Tossing His blessing aside as if being “cool” is more important than His blessing TRULY IS selling a birthright for a bowl of soup. And to do it as if it is the only “principled” vote, because the hounds of Hell have libeled the pro-life candidate on the ballot, is not only sick, it is just plain evil. It is taking the Lord’s name in vain - labeling yourself and your actions as if they are from God, when God has said, “You shall not bear false witness” and “You shall not murder”.

To obey is better than sacrifice. I’m not God; I can’t tell you what you should do. But I can give you and others His Word and remind you that there is a heckuva lot more here at stake than simply being politically “cool”.

This land will be healed when - and only when - God’s people humble themselves and accept what HE has said as if HE is God and we are not.

Maybe because he thought Luther Strange was the best we could get, given the way both D’s and R’s attack anybody conservative - in the primaries AND in the general election.

But you tell me why Trump put out a robocall right before the election asking people to vote for Roy Moore. And tell me why it is such an OK thing for those who voted for Trump to turn their backs on him when Trump particularly pleaded to them for help.

you’re quite deranged. and you’re still fighting the last war.

DJT is in charge of “the establishment” now. I’ll trust him to deal with it long before a guy that sold Alabama out for the sake of his own ego.

but the quickest and easiest way to dislodge all of these “establishment” agents is to lose all of their seats to democrats — and that appears to be what Bannon is planning to do.

I agree that it should, but there is evidence his own attorneys put out that helped him in his claim of innocence. However, he wasn’t out there touting it. He was hiding. Why not immediately take a lie detector test & do it on camera? He blew it because he went into hiding. He couldn’t have run a worse campaign.
