Minor thugs just waiting for the call to become major thugs...............
Bye, Bye, anti-American thugs.
The article fails to take into account that almost all of the conferences offer streaming of their games. Some offer it free, while others charge a fee for it. I personally don’t believe viewership is down, I believe people are moving toward other platforms to watch college football.
My primary complaint about TV coverage of college football is that so many of the game announcers are just plain awful.
Mizzou is way down for the same reasons as the NFL.
It isn’t just sports, if you look the entertainment industry as a whole is tanking, pro sports are entertainers and part of the same crowd, as well as News channels, Newspapers, magazines,.....
WINNING!!!
The colleges have killed the conferences, which are now nothing but television marketing scams. As traditional rivalries decline, so does fan interest. College football has just become a minor pro league, and so few teams are really competitive that fans are losing interest. Old habits die hard and the gray haired crowd still cheers for the alma mater, but the disinterest among the student body is growing fast.
America is reassessing football. Parents of regular kids know it’s a dead end sport for them.
Since I am boycotting the NFL I’ve found that college ball is much more exciting than the NFL and without the anti-patriotism the NFL tolerates and even condones. College kids play their hearts out whether they have a chance at the NFL or not. It’s a faster, more wide open and offensively imaginitive game that is more appealing to me.
Would dumbass bowl names have anything to do with it?
Yeah, I love watching people who hate me amuse themselves.
I tried to watch all the Navy games. Other than that, my college football enthusiasm is down from last year, too. The interest isn’t there.
Bowl teams made their records with their star players. Now star players don’t want to play in bowl games because they protect themselves for the draft. I am avoiding watching bowl games where star players sit out.
If this report accurately reflects a decline in the popularity of college football, then it probably reinforces what I’ve said about the NFL. While college football may be more exciting than the NFL, it’s still a pretty dull game at it’s core when you consider how little action there is in a three-hour broadcast. And NCAA football has the same problem with U.S. demographic changes as the NFL, too.
At this rate the Government will have to come up with something else to keep the Lemmings entertained.
Rollerball?
Overpaid rich criminal buffoons?
Considering tuitions and expenses they are already there.
Many of the games on cable have near zero interest because they are teams/colleges no one ever heard of.
I watch some of the regional games.
Add to that the nearly 40 bowl games, many having contenders with 6-6 records.
Not the minor league for me, its the ONLY league.
It used to be”our students” are better players rhan your students.
Now it’s our head coaches can squeeze athletes into a mickey mouse degree and also can recruit the best athletes so we will win and get more money for the school and the coach can get a better more lucrative gig somewhere else. The school gets more students and gets richer...It has become a total farce..
There should be a junior college where athletes can go...learn how to be a citizen...and just play sports...and if they’re good enough to be a pro...then go..
Not with Fox, however.
These guys got greedy, especially the conferences. The number of games on exploded too.
