CFPB: Disgruntled Staffers Form A Resistance Movement Within The Agency, Using Encrypted Devices

What is going on at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau? It’s a clown show, or it’s rapidly becoming one. Richard Cordray, the former director of the agency, resigned at the end of November. There’s speculation that he’s mulling a gubernatorial bid in Ohio. Alas, comes the showdown. President Trump tapped Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney to run the agency, whereas Cordray had selected Leandra English, his deputy, to take the reins. The fact is the president has the power to appoint a new director, but as Guy noted, liberals saw the CFPB, the temple of of Liz Warren, as so extraordinarily independent that the law doesn’t matter. An interagency war occurred with English signing off emails as acting director, with Mulvaney sending emails of his own instructing staff to disregard English while inviting the rest of the staff up for donuts. It was an attempted coup, folks. And English filed a lawsuit to effectively block Mulvaney from taking over as acting director; a judge ruled in the Trump administration’s favor on that one. Mulvaney is the acting director, though the lawsuit is still ongoing.

It’s illegal for federal employees to take any action that hides their communication at work, including encryption, which is subject to federal records laws.

A decent judge would shut down a case like this.

Yes, Fauxcahontas and fellow enemies of America set up a perpetual taxpayer funding machine for treasonous Left-Wing groups. The extent of these crimes must be exposed.

Mulvaney needs to fire every single person who answered or fulfilled any of English’s emailed actions, for cause. Then re-advertise for their jobs, but never fill the positions. This will allow a significant cut in their budget, get rid of the naysayers, and keep new ones out without a showdown on cutting positions.

They are just so certain that if they can just hold out a little longer, POTUS will be impeached or “gotten rid of” and Obama will return to reign....if they can just hold on.
Obama is shadowing Trump’s international itinerary - arriving immediately before or after and meeting with heads of state. Creepy.

Send out 500,000 pink slips, they’ll stop. Not to mention its a $100b annual savings. No one would even notice.

What us not being focused on is that there are federal grants and funds which these bureaucracies like this one as well as the DOJ and dozens of other fed agencies have been handing out promoting mislabeled “lIberaL” but are actually radical causes.

And on the campaign trail, Barry said he was going to have the most HONEST, Transparente administration, making open agreements, and no back room hush deals. He failed.... It wasn’t because of the tone of the pigment in his skin... it was the white genes he had that caused him to do this.

Cordray wants to use these skills here in Ohio.
the shakedown monies need to be accounted for. The citizens this was supposed to help did not receive any benefit.
Well Fargo paid millions in fines without admissions of guilt with customer’s cash.

The SEC started that crap back in the 90’s. They would go after a company for some accounting rule violation supposedly to protect shareholders. Then company and SEC would agree to settlement with no admission of wrongdoing. The settlement money came from the stockholders once again . Then all the legal fees came from the stockholders again. Then the DOJ spent the money on off budget activities and groups.

I don’t know how easy it is to fire govt employees. I know there are all sorts of rules about hiring. I know someone who is the head of a department within an agency. There are rules that you have to hire from within. He’s had two vacancies on his staff for a long time. One is a low-level secretarial/administrative position. But his hiring options from within the agency are at the $60K+ level and he thinks it’s wrong to pay that much of taxpayer’s money for a job that’s worth less. The other opening is for a higher level position. The person who should get the job according to the rules is an annoying person whom no one likes working with. She keeps coming by his office and asking when he’s going to fill the position. He’s trying to wait her out. If he hired someone else, he expects she’s put up a fight and envisions months of bureaucratic hell. My friend would rather do without that position than have to work with her.

There are state and federal laws to protect the consumer. There is NO NEED for an entire bureau to enforce them. Abolish the agency, forthwith!
