CNN has reported that five women have accused Mark Halperin of sexual harassment during his time at ABC News some years ago.
Halperin has been an MSNBC contributor for years, and a regular on the Morning Joe panel. Mika Brzezinski addressed the story this morning:
"CNN is reporting allegations regarding our friend, Mark Halperin . . . I'm sure we'll be talking about it again when we know more about it."
My take: it might sound like a cliche, but I was surprised and saddened to see the story. It's easy to lump all MSM figures in the same biased boat. But as an observer of Halperin for many years, he has struck me as someone who goes out of his way to see various sides to a story, and doesn't get swept up in the conventional MSM wisdom of the day. He has frequently acknowledged the media's liberal bias.

I would need to know exactly what was said or done to have an opinion on whether or not it was ‘sexual harassment’. That being said, ANY touching in inappropriate places is harassment. That is always crossing a line.”

This morning Wolf Blitzer decided he was really missing out on this whole anchor groping fun. So he started across the lunchroom toward an attractive intern. When he got within 50 feet she snapped, “Don’t EVEN think about it Wolf,” so he turned around and went back. Bummer.
Back in the day, we had a poor guy who was a supervisor at our medical lab on a college campus, an Asian guy in his thirties while we were student employees. He sometimes told slightly off color jokes. NOTHING REALLY BAD. He never touched us. But someone turned him in to HR and he was forced by them to go around to each and every woman in the department and shamefacedly apologize for his behavior. It was HORRIBLE to see him put through that.
It’s pretty clear. At work, there should be no touching other than a hand on an arm if that. You have to “ask for time outside of work” to be picking up on someone. Like “do you want to go get a burger” is ok. But “your body is so hot” not ok. The only boss I actually went over his head and complained about, I gave him three chances. His lines to me were like “You need a little of me to fix what ails ya” Or “you need some of this, baby” which I did not feel was appropriate from a drinking male superior. So I told him to knock it off, and he did not. The next time I said, “do it again and I will tell [a very well paid chef de cuisine of the whole hotel complex, our big boss].” So he had his warning. But did it again. Any guy trying to pick me up at work, I never complained, there is a huge difference.
The Left started the sexual harassment stuff to destroy Fox News ,LOL
And what was once considered "persistence" is now considered "stalking".
