As Americans, theres much we can learn from other cultures. In fact, one of the best things about this country is the way we incorporate so many wonderful aspects of so many different cultures, from food and music to clothing and customs.
If thats what multiculturalism meant, it would indeed be a good thing. Unfortunately, its not, at least for progressives. To them, multiculturalism is the idea that all cultures are equal that no culture is superior to any other.
Thats patently absurd. Its obvious to any intellectually honest person that western culture, rooted in Judeo-Christian values, has given rise to the freest, most pluralistic, most technologically advanced societies in the history of the world.
Western culture has its faults, to be sure, both past and present. But the ultimate test of a culture is how it treats the historically powerless. Nowhere on Earth, and never in history, have women and minorities had the freedom and influence they now enjoy in the democratic societies of Western Europe and North America.
Thats why the hypocrisy of the multiculturalists is so stunning. They claim to champion womens rights while embracing cultures where women have virtually no rights whatsoever. To them, Americas imaginary wage gap appears more odious than honor killings, forced marriage and involuntary abortion.
They praise highly paid American athletes for taking a knee to protest our flag as a symbol of oppression but refuse to condemn cultures that still practice actual slavery.
They march for gay rights, then make common cause with cultures that unapologetically execute or incarcerate gay people.
Progressives clearly dont even believe their own propaganda. If all cultures are equal, what gives us the right to insist that developing nations stop exploiting children in sweatshops? Or flooding our country with narcotics? Or trafficking in sex slaves? Arent those things just part of their culture?
For that matter, if all cultures are equal, then why not Southern redneck culture? Why cant they have their flags and their monuments? Their hunting rifles and cockfights? Whence comes the moral authority to tell them theyre wrong, if one culture is just as good as another?
The real goal of multiculturalism is not to foster understanding and encourage dialog among cultures but to discredit Western culture by suggesting its no better than any other. In fact, its worse, because its exclusionary and therefore unjust.
Nothing could be further from the truth. The beauty of Western culture American culture is that you dont have to be descended from white Europeans to benefit from it. Anyone can, regardless of race, ethnicity or sex, provided theyre willing to embrace pluralism and respect the rights of others.
For two centuries, people have been doing just that, coming here from all over the world precisely because of our values bringing the best of their cultures to merge into the best of ours.
Thats a kind of multiculturalism we can all get behind.
what college ? - send your kids THERE !!!
Political Correctness is a power and money laundering tool for the state sedition against the rights of people, one litigation at a time.
Rob Jenkins nails it!
multi and culture dont go together!!!
they’re an oxymoron. Is that the right word?
At Christmas Eve dinner, we have the seven fish WOP thing going on.
ALL speak English, the cursing is in Italian.
How would SIX languages being spoken help the party?
how would several Radically different gods (there’s only One) help the party?
How about the customs for the kids?
How about the customs for the adults?!?!
WTF is so good about multi culturalism??!!
Where’s Joe Pesci when you need him?

Above from the article.
to me, the issue is some people trying to believe all at the same time in evolution, all people and animals are equal, We are better than you, and a few other things like their mind has the correct way of thinking, while not wanting to see or consider it causes chaos and conflict instead of harmony, peace or true fulfillment of a person let alone a group or all people.
As he stated....”To them, multiculturalism is the idea that all cultures are equal that no culture is superior to any other”.....
Furthermore that thinking ‘removes distinctions’ .Regardless of their attempts to move populations to live along side of one another they will always take on the ‘hosts’ cultural identity and drop much of their own. The exception of course are muslims who would have us all become like them.
Georgia State Perimeter
Its a commuter college. Every now and then you can find a reasonable prof at various colleges. Whole faculty probably aint conservative
Well yea, Fungi, that’s exactly what the author is saying. He’s all about the e pluribus unum, just like you and me.
Upon further review, fungi. I do prefer the term “multi-ethnic.” Let’s phase that in. The filthy hippies can keep “multi-culturalism.”
A quick test to see which cultures are good and which ones are bad:
Which countries have people waiting to get in and others so desperate to get in that they will commit crimes and pay huge fees to smugglers? And which countries are people fleeing from?
So let’s not import the cultures that people are desperately trying to escape.
President Bagster will sign that legislation.
Thank you. Cooking curried chicken with obo squash and anaheim chilies-—certainly multi-ethnic.
The traditional American melting pot strengthens Western Civilization. The Balkanization being promoted by the left will do nothing but turn the west into the unstable toxic stew the Balkans are famous for.
If all cultures are equal that would suggest that the culture of Nazi Germany was equal to America’s culture today. Nobody can defend that.
Except......the cockamamie airheads continue bashing and belittling America....depicting it as the worst culture of them all.
And to then usher in the utopian State. That's the real goal.
