Because the Left dominates the news media, the entertainment media, and academia, Americans are swimming actually, drowning in an ocean of lies.
Here are a few examples:
America is racist.
America oppresses its minorities.
America oppresses women.
Universities have a culture of rape.
There are more than two genders.
All cultures are morally and culturally equal.
Hurricanes Harvey and Irma were caused, or made more intense, by global warming.
Israel is the villain in the Middle East conflict.
Western civilization is a euphemism for white supremacy.
The latest lie of the Left is that, regarding the conflict between the NFL and President Donald Trump, the president is the divisive party.
Whenever people on the left tell one of these lies, I always wonder whether they really believe it. I have concluded that they nearly always do which is more frightening than if they knew they werent telling the truth. With people who know they arent telling the truth, there is always hope. But there is no hope for people who believe their lies.
What other conclusion could any fair-minded person reach when people say with a straight face that Trump is the divisive party in his conflict with players over their refusal to stand for the national anthem?
Apparently, the question Who started it? means nothing to the journalists, politicians, and NFL players, coaches, and owners who call the president divisive.
So before discussing Trumps reaction, our fellow Americans on the left need to answer some pretty simple questions: Has the behavior of those athletes been divisive? Is kneeling while tens of thousands of people are standing divisive? Is it divisive to publicly show contempt for the American flag for which innumerable Americans risked their lives, were terribly injured, or died?
The answers are so obvious that if someone denies that those actions are divisive, it inevitably raises another question: Why would anyone deny it?
Here are three likely reasons:
First, most people on the left think that they are centrists, or at most center-liberal. Therefore, they deem their own beliefs normative, and they label anyone who differs with them as divisive and ultimately extremist.
This is true for every issue. Take same-sex marriage. Redefining marriage to include two people of the same sex was the most radical change in the history of the family far more radical than, say, banning polygamy. Yet I have never read or heard a person who favored same-sex marriage acknowledge that this was a radical change, not to mention divisive. On the contrary, people on the left believe that the divisive, extremist people are all those who wanted to retain the only definition of marriage any society has ever had the union between the two sexes.
Likewise, in the eyes of the Left the media, academia, and the Democratic party it is not professional athletes who have refused to stand for the national anthem who are divisive; it is the president and all others who condemn the players for doing so.
Was the presidents rhetoric over the top? I believe some of it was specifically, when he said, at a recent rally: Wouldnt you love to see one of those NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, say, Get that son of a b**** off the field right now. Out. Hes fired. Hes fired! No politician, let alone the president of the United States, should use expletives publicly.
But if the president had used soaring rhetoric to sharply rebuke the players and the NFL, the Left would have similarly accused him of being divisive.
Imagine the president had begun his comments by saying something along these lines:
To see professional athletes publicly dishonor the flag for which hundreds of thousands of Americans have died, the flag that millions of Americans have seen drape the coffin of their child, their spouse, their sibling, their parent, or other loved one is as morally repulsive as it un-American. Of course, these players have the right of free speech and so do I, and that is precisely the right I am exercising now.
Had he spoken that way, would the Left not have characterized him as divisive?
There is a second reason the Left portrays the president, not the players, as divisive. They agree with the players that the flag represents a systemically and socially racist country. How could they not? The Left is the primary reason many Americans believe that America, the least racist multiracial country in history, is a racist country.
Lying about ones political enemies is as much a part of leftism as hydrogen and oxygen are of water.
A third reason the Left calls the president, not the players, divisive is that the Left will say anything about those with whom it differs. The Left sees language as a tool not for expressing truth but for defeating its enemies. From Stalins calling Trotsky a Fascist to the American medias calling Trump and his supporters Nazis and white supremacists, lying about ones political enemies is as much a part of leftism as hydrogen and oxygen are of water.
And why have non-leftist NFL coaches and owners also called the president divisive? Because they if they told the truth that the players are the divisive party here they would have no team.
So, then, if you agree with the players, say so. But have the honesty to acknowledge that it is they the first players in American sports history to refuse to stand during the national anthem who are the divisive ones. Honesty feels almost as good as fighting conservatives. Try it.

Let them get real jobs.
I’m done with the NFL.
They do not want to be the football league of THIS nation.
Yeah, they want to consider the other nations in the Middle East heroes, but who ends up dead in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, and other hardliners Islamic nations?

Answer: yes
I say Obama and company , and the fake journalist, who covered for him are mostly to blame.
Meh. We've already got enough ditch diggers, burger flippers and car wash attendants. Let them find another, more 'just' country and find a real job there!
Liberalism is a chronic, no-cure mental disease.
There is not a day goes by that we see another classic example of it.
Liberalism kills everything it touches....worse than cancer.
At some point, It’s gonna reach a tipping point and will need to be purged from the face of the land in order to just survive.
Trump just holds up the mirror.
Basically, the BLM movement was brought into the NFL and the owners, realizing that 75% of their players supported BLM had thought it best to comply. The problem is that most of the customers do NOT support BLM and resent having to stomach their crap every week. A conflict of interest, to say the least.
Of the 16 teams that that stood for the Anthem Sunday, 10 won.
Of the 6 teams that stood who lost, 5 played against teams that also stood
Only 1 team that stood (Houston) lost against a team that knelt (New England), and by only three points. That game was much closer than it should have been.
New England is the only kneeling or absent team that won against a standing opponent.
Kapperpunk started this many months before Trump became President.
From the way this story is being reported, you would think this started after the president was elected.
This knee disrespecting the country started before president Trump was elected.
5.56mm
That started a fire that will burn down the NFL. Trump's contribution was to throw a tanker full of gasoline on it.
All you really need to do to get an A is agree with the teachers radical views and suck up to the teacher in class.
Some of the more lazy and less than academically gifted student athletes gravitate to these types of courses for obvious reasons.
It seems the NFL has a lot of these less than gifted students who have taken a lot of the campus Gender, racial, ethnic, critical race theory and queer/transgender studies class offerings.
It's pretty obvious that they have been indoctrinated and radicalized in the hate and resentment taught in these classes to the extent that they are unable to realize the sweet gig they have .
They are also too stupid to realize that they are destroying the NFL brand name and offending their fan base and too angry, entitled and arrogant to give a darn.
These dips should have taken history where they could have learned about all the previous sports organizations, going back to the Gladiators of Rome , who ran their sweet little celebrity gig into the ground by the corruption born of hubris, extravagant wealth and arrogance
Maybe President Trump should announce a military draft for NFL players and ship them over to Afghanistan...
The NFL gives America the middle finger,
So Americans give the NFL the boot.
They should have stuck with playing football, and not being a bunch of overpaid punk-ass BLM SJW’s who like to advocate the assassination of police officers and killing whitey.
Alienating your audience and/or customers is not a good business strategy for any industry.
The players.
The elites have de facto re-written the Constitution to convey upon themselves privileges (formerly known as the Bill of Rights). We the little people don’t enjoy those privileges.
When the players take a knee it’s courageous, within their first amendment rights and laudable (at least by their fellow elites).
When the little people object and try to assert their rights? What rights are those? Oh no, it’s a case of inflaming hatred or being racist.
The real civil war is not right v. left. That is a canard. The real civil war is the elite v. the little people.
Goes without saying... and it's too formal and carefully constructed of a statement, which makes it sound like it's insincere coming from Trump.
One of the things I really like about Trump is his ability to address the core of an issue with a pithy statement, and without using remote, disembodied, analytical language. He uses zingers instead of flowery syntax, language that telegraphs sincerity and honesty instead of caution. A carefully constructed statement like Prager insists upon would not be Trump's style, and many of these same NRO NeverTrump pundits would likely criticize him for having someone else write his opinions for him.
