The elites have de facto re-written the Constitution to convey upon themselves privileges (formerly known as the Bill of Rights). We the little people don’t enjoy those privileges.
When the players take a knee it’s courageous, within their first amendment rights and laudable (at least by their fellow elites).
When the little people object and try to assert their rights? What rights are those? Oh no, it’s a case of inflaming hatred or being racist.
The real civil war is not right v. left. That is a canard. The real civil war is the elite v. the little people.
Careful. That's part of the Marxist narrative. That everyone belongs to either the bourgeois or the proletariat, one or the other, that they are in permanent conflict, that it must be resolved through upheaval (with a dispensation toward violence).
But in America you can be poor one moment and rich another moment. Just look at these athletes! Most came from lower middle class or lower class backgrounds, and now they make millions or tens of millions in a year! That's America. And many of them will be destitute in 15 years because they didn't handle their fortunes wisely. In America we have mobility, but we don't resent someone for their success, and we want to help the unsuccessful become successful. Put another way, there is such a thing as creation of wealth -- someone can become wealthy without forcing someone else into poverty.
