Governor Walker removes Patriot from 9-11 Patriot Day
Patriot Day is so patriotic. Maybe a bit too patriotic for Alaska Gov. Bill Walker.
Gov. Walker has declared it September 11 Commemoration Day, a day where we as Americans reflect on the importance to our nation of freedom, tolerance, patriotism, diversity, and respect for others, and are grateful for the rights and freedoms that we hold as Americans;
This word play doesnt happen by accident. Someone changed it from Patriot Day to Commemoration Day. Someone approved it. And the governor signed it. Did he know that he had taken patriotism out of Patriot Day? Of course he did.
The Walker Administration made a decision to remove not only the overriding concept of patriotism but to erase the emotional reaction Americans have to the horrific attack on our nation, the evil that incited it, and heroism that followed. Now its really just about community service.
On the day before our 425th Brigade left Alaska for Afghanistan, as it has done several times before since 9-11, Walker made no mention of the heroism and courage of our men and women in uniform.
Instead, the word patriotism was tucked in among politically correct verbiage that completely missed the point of the day: We were attacked. Innocents died. Our freedoms have been curtailed. Our men and women in uniform have fought, been injured, and many have died.
Instead, the Walker proclamation phoned it in with a nearly clinical nod to the most heinous attack on American soil ever.

All of this gutless, “diversity” hugfest piffle is long past it expiration date.
So we’re supposed to celebrate people and cultures that never contributed anything to America (but take I bet) in this new form of “Patriots Day”?
We should do away with, “Labor Day” and just commemorate 9/11.
Misguided is not the right word.
AK Gov Bill Walker is scum.
When we started worshipping the god of tolerance and diversity we lost our soul.
It breaks my heart how the most rugged states like Alaska, Colorado, Washington, Oregon, are governmentally full blown wussy. It is sad. Come on , let’s take them back. Aren’t there more businesses there than coffee houses, breweries, and pastry shops?
Let us now forget this is the state that voted for the detestable Lisa Murkkowski.
Don’t forget the weed shops in CO and WA. Highly important in drawing the right kind of diversity...LMAO!!

Having been to Boulder this summer, I must correct you...it is not weed, pot, or doobie...it is cannabis.
We were corrected by the exquisitely pompous liberals there...oh, and verrrry rich, too. Most bikes cost more than cars.
Took the words out of my mouth.
The whole was illegal too, the democrats not replacing there nominee when he quit was illegal, and that same democrat being named Walker’s running mate was also illegal.
April 19th is Patriot’s Day.
Palin supported Walker and went against Parnell.
Should change the bald eagle to a chicken as the nation symbol.
Bill Walker is in the party of Bill Walker.
All he has done for most his working life is sue oil companies. He has this obsession about pushing thru a Nat Gas pipeline.
And he has the brass to run again.
I take back all the harsh I dealt on Palin - compared to Walker she was (sorta) good for the State.
First Murkowski abandons Republicans/conservatives and now this POS goes PC. Next thing you know, Alaska will go Democrat during a presidential election. Seems they are headed that way anyway.
Welcome hordes of homicidal savages into your lands, Privileged Oppressors, and give all that you have to them in obedience to the idol of diversity, which means more of them, and less of you.
9/11 is just about an afterthought at this point and all raw emotion is a distant memory.
My post had nothing to do with Gov Palin.
Your reply attempted to put words in my mouth.
SHAME ON YOU FOR YOUR DISHONESTY!
