Russias ambassador to Washington told his superiors in Moscow that he discussed campaign-related matters, including policy issues important to Moscow, with Jeff Sessions during the 2016 presidential race, contrary to public assertions by the embattled attorney general, according to current and former U.S. officials.
Ambassador Sergey Kislyaks accounts of two conversations with Sessions then a top foreign policy adviser to Republican

Gowdy does not want it. He is GOPe anyway.
I really doubt that.
In the first place, I do not believe it.
Why was this not “leaked” during Sessions appointment hearings?
You can go to google and do a search for the article’s title and then click the results and get the full article. FYI
“according to current and former U.S. officials” = the latest bit of fictional “news” from WaPo designed to destroy my President ...
There is presently no way to know how long these intercepts (if they are legit) might have been available to anyone, or to whom, over the past six months or more.
The most relevant question this week might be who would have a motive to release such information now, and who would benefit?
And that Russian ambassador just oozes credibility.
Yes, he discussed the Russian Salad Dressing that was going to be ordered on his Reuben Sandwich that he was going to order at a campaign luncheon.
Actually it’s incoherent nonsense.
“Russias ambassador to Washington told his superiors in Moscow that he discussed campaign-related matters, including policy issues important to Moscow...”
How are “policy issues important to Moscow” “campaign matters”?
It makes no sense.
Further how is discussing matters important to Moscow with the ambassador somehow wrong or a crime?
What else are ambassadors going to talk about other than issues important to their country?
The media try to make normal activity seen as criminal.
I don’t think speculation is a good idea. We will find out soon enough I guess.
Especially since Sessions was a U.S. Senator at the time and was clear that he had plenty of meetings with foreign representatives in that capacity.
Meanwhile Clinton goes unscathed with here illegalities which includes treasonous Uranium deal and Ukraine shenanigans.
You're speculating as much as I was.
You asked why wasn't this released during Sessions nomination hearings.
I asked why was it released this week. And attacking Sessions in public was a stupid idea.
“I really hate to post anything from the WaCompost but if this is true and not fake news to once again hurt the Trump Admin; Sessions may be stepping down sooner than I thought.”
Here’s a thought: Give zero credibility to the Goebbel’s Nazis at the WP.
There has been so much fake news regarding Trump that I tend to dismiss sources such as CNN NY Times, Washington Post, etc. That is too bad since sometimes they might be reporting the truth, but who can believe them?
Jeff Sasquatch must go!
Trey Gowdy is all talk.
Yep. "Russia, if you're listening, I hope you can find the 33,000 emails that are missing" is labeled a serious request to perpetrate a federal crime.
It's a thought, one I have all the time actually, and without the snark; at least in my head when I think it.
Like I said, I abhor helping WaPo in any way, it's nothing more than fish wrap IMHO but the fact is lots of people read it so if we know what kind of disinformation the people are getting; we can counter it in some way or another.
If I had my way 2/3 of the news outlets would be shut down for bias or flat out lying.
The DOJ is hitting back on this. Good!
