Listening to Fox News, the gun the shooter used has been identified as an SKS with 7.62 X 39 ammo, with a scope, and called a "high powered rifle."
Of course an SKS is not high powered, or particularly accurate....but the ignorance, fear, and bias of the Media--even on Fox--is already coming out--to pound the drum against the 2nd Amendment.
Usually they are called “Mouse Guns” at shooting matches.
As I said in the original post, this is what Fox News is saying now. SKS also take long banana magazines.>>> i bought a couple but they would not feed on mine. looks cool tho.
Read the box.
Most common 22 LR is “High Velocity”
UPDATE: They now say the Bernie Sanders-inspired mass shooter was fed on HATE from Rachel MadCow! Huh, no surprises here!
The US national HATE Media and Democrats are DIRECTLY to blame for the shooting of the Congressional Republicans! Within the last month two artistic works have drawn criticism for imagined violence against Trump. In May, comedian Kathy Griffin apologized for a photo where she held a mask of a bloody, severed Trump head after a major backlash where CNN cut ties with her. More recently, a production of Shakespeares Julius Caesar depicted a Trump-like figure who was assassinated. The presidents eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., on Twitter highlighted another users tweet that said, Events like today are EXACTLY why we took issue with NY elites glorifying the assassination of our President, soon after shots were fired at Republican congressmen during a baseball practice.
FOR SHAME!!
The .22LR is the most common cartridge in gun deaths.
I was pretty sure it was semi. But when they called it an M4 I questioned it.
One of the witnesses said it was an AK-47 and sounded like he knew what he was talking about.
Go figure. smile
Yep. none of them seem to get it. It’s clear they have never used one.
Yep. The 7.62X39 is roughly equivalent to a .30-30 cartridge. The lower end of high-powered rifle cartridges. The .30-30 is good enough to have the reputation of taking more deer than all other cartridges combined.
I would think, at least when compared to a pistol, all rifles would be “High Powered” the idea of a rifle is greater range and penetration power. Making them high powered is sort of the whole idea.
High power was it? So it was a .460 Weatherby Mag? The clowns on TV barely can tell the difference from their heads from their asses. An unstable Democrat shoots Republicans and the Democrats and their liberal idiot media calls for gun control...of course.
Bummer.
Who helps you drink beer in the backyard now?
Traditionally center fired cartridges are referred to as being “high powered”.
More likely he believed the Democrat press that said that ‘assault weapons’ were so easy to use and kill with that nothing could stand against even an untrained user employing one.
The BATFE is pretty stupid technically.
I’d guess that there are 22LR rounds that are quite killer.
I wuz trying to exclude the Hornady soft tip but aerodynamic rounds, but there is something to like about firing great rounds from a non-firearm, pre 1896? anti-que.
“The .22LR is the most common cartridge in gun deaths.”
Yes, I am aware of that. I have a healthy respect for the LR, as one concealed carry instuctor said to me, “A .22 between the eyes is a lot more effective than a .44 in the foot.” In other words bullet placement is the number one determinant of the damage done. After that comes caliber.
Seriously? CNN had an AR-15 on-screen for about 15 minutes as they talked about it being the gun used.
They can’t be that stupid, and they aren’t. They just assume their viewers are so dumb and pliable (and clearly they are) so just throw up the “black gun” again.
They are so lazy they don’t want to explain to users what an “SKS” is.
SKS: A semi-automatic version of the AK-47.
Of course it was an SKS. The shooter is a commie.
(I’ll be over here, getting my flame suit on !)
NOTE: I own SKSs and AKs.
We need guns because of people like this. Get rid of these people, we won’t need to carry.
