Election machines in three states were not hacked to give Donald Trump the election.
There was never a serious post-election movement of electors to defy their constitutional duties and vote for Hillary Clinton.
Nor, once Trump was elected, did transgendered people begin killing themselves in alarming numbers. Nor were there mass resignations at the State Department upon his inauguration. Nor did Donald Trump seek an order to ban all Muslims from entering the U.S. Instead, he temporarily sought a suspension in visas for everyone, regardless of religion, from seven Middle Eastern states that the Obama administration had earlier identified as incapable of properly vetting travelers to the U.S.

Great piece.
Honestly, I do not understand how media figures (Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow, Steven Colbert, etc.) could read a devastating piece like this and not come to the conclusion that maybe — just maybe — they are grossly unreasonable, unfair, unbalanced, and deceitful.
The Media are seditionists. They are enemies of freedom and the American Republic. They are the enemy of the people.
They must be destroyed.
Cut your cable and stop using Amazon for starters.
Yeah - it’s a line in the sand akin to all the red lines Obama talked about but did nothing as the terrorists crossed them time and again....
1) They would not read a piece like this - they are only allowed to read the NYT - "All the News that Fits".
2) They all ARE "unreasonable, unfair, unbalanced, and deceitful" - that is who they are.
They don’t care, they have neither journalistic integrity or any visible type of morality. For the most part, these are very nasty people who don’t have a ghost of religious thought or ethical standards. Plus they have to “fit in” with the crowd in Hollywood and New York - the slightest recognition that Trump is a legitimate president (I think Jimmy Fallon tried to be objective and he’s been ostracized) renders them outcasts which they can’t bear.
I was told one-on-one by a prominent (anti-gun) journalist that it’s more honest to report in a manner that tells a larger truth than it is to get the facts of an individual story right. They don’t care about facts - they are #FakeNews.
Good article. When he describes all of the unreal, hysterical fantasies of the left, ranging from their adulation of Obama and tolerance for his misdeeds to their attribution to Trump of all the evils in the world, it makes one wonder how a society dominated by such lunatics is ever going to survive.
History says it won't.
And yet, for all that and more, Barack Obama certainly did not warrant articles of impeachment
NEVER use truth and facts when the situation calls for hysteria!
“And yet, for all that and more, Barack Obama certainly did not warrant articles of impeachment; he was not unhinged, nor did he offer any evidence of medical incapacity. He would not deserve to have his family smeared with jokes about incest or autism. Any Madonna-like talk of blowing him up in the White House would have been obscene, perhaps illegal, and probably grounds for prosecution.”
Context is everything. He was comparing the double standard applied to Trump and Obama.
WOW. Thanks for posting. Perfect essay except the conclusion that Obama committed no impeachable offenses.
I believe that Hanson was speaking about conclusions made
by the media and the political elite, not his own
conclusions.
I got that. But I still believe strongly that BHO deserved impeachment for many of the reasons Hanson enumerated. He even states "...Barack Obama subverted the Constitution..." If this is not a reason for impeachment, whatever could be?
It was an excellent article, but I disagree with Hanson's conclusion on this.
Please read post #15.
Because ideology and emotion trump logic, reason, and rationality.
You are dealing with people who cannot think straight. Moreover they cannot get over their own visceral, irrational hatred of DJT.
Great piece. I saw no reference to Fast and Furious or to Obamas czars," but otherwise, a pretty good summation. If the Republican Party were acting for us, they would be asking how much worse it is for the Russians to try to influence the 2016 American election illegally than it was for Obama, Lois Lerner, and SoS Hillary Clinton to successfully influence the 2012 American election. Obama was (give or take a questionable birth certificate or two) entitled to compete for for reelection. He was not entitled to control (via the IRS and by the awful video scam which included incarcerating a filmmaker) the outcome of that election.
The 800 lb. gorilla in the room being, of course, the cynicism of journalism (which, knowing itself to be negative - if it bleeds, it leads - presumes to style itself objective). Being cynical towards society, journalism promotes big government "to control society's evil. And promotes any official in government or in labor unions who cooperates with journalists in criticizing society.
The natural disposition is always to believe. It is acquired wisdom and experience only that teach incredulity, and they very seldom teach it enough. The wisest and most cautious of us all frequently gives credit to stories which he himself is afterwards both ashamed and astonished that he could possibly think of believing.Dear Reader, are you skeptical? When exposed to the persuaders and their so-called News, are you skeptical enough? The man whom we believe is necessarily, in the things concerning which we believe him, our leader and director, and we look up to him with a certain degree of esteem and respect. But as from admiring other people we come to wish to be admired ourselves; so from being led and directed by other people we learn to wish to become ourselves leaders and directors . . .
The desire of being believed, the desire of persuading, of leading and directing other people, seems to be one of the strongest of all our natural desires. - Adam Smith, Theory of Moral Sentiments (1759)
That was not my interpretation when I read it, but I hope you are right.
