“Absent the pressures described [in my affidavit], I would have disapproved the findings in this case,” Lorge wrote in his affidavit.
For Lorge, the pressure came from President Barack Obama’s White House and also the Senate.
“At the time, the political climate regarding sexual assault in the military was such that a decision to disapprove the findings, regardless of merit, would bring hate and discontent on the Navy from the President, as well as senators including Senator Kirstin Gillibrand,” Lorge wrote in his affidavit.
Lorge believes that based on his conversations with senior officials in the Navy, he was essentially told that “if you disapprove the findings, it will ruin your career.”

I have known admirals with character and those without. This may be a redemption story, where the admiral showed a shocking lack of character under unfamiliar pressure from domestic enemies and is now trying to make restitution. It's still reprehensible, but fixing his egregious actions after retirement is better than not trying to fix it at all. The man trained his whole life for one kind of enemy and was unprepared when he discovered the real personal danger that he actually faced. That doesn't excuse his conduct, but it does make it understandable. If the SEAL gets his life back, mostly, I won't carry as much of a grudge against the admiral.

when a judge, attorney, cop, wanes or anyone acting in a an official capacity withholds evidence that the subject is not guilty or may be guilty of a lesser crime.
The person committing such an act should serve the sentenced for the crime hat the innocent person was convicted of.
Obama’s officers, you think any of them cared a wit about their young soldiers, sailors, marines or airmen? All they cared about was keeping their careers going even if it meant implementing disastrous policies. Trump should have fired every three and four star officer the day he took office. They are worthless examples of American officers and all should be in prison.

Navy SEALs are infamous for hit it and quit it. These women should know what they are getting into when the guy takes them to a hotel room instead of dinner and the movies.
