President Trump drops another Mother Of All Bombs, this time in a twitter version directly targeted at a corrupted and politicized James Comey Dept. of Justice.
And whats more stunning in the aftershock is the medias incapacity to take the new Trump/Comey timeline information and add it to the existing Sally Yates timeline.
Then again, to do so would be to expose another level of FBI/DOJ politicization that remains hidden from public consumption. Another political operative, Asst. Director of Counter Intelligence, Bill Priestap, who accompanied acting AG Sally Yates to the meeting with White House Counsel Don McGahn, is a Hillary Clinton campaign donor.

The miscalculation the Deep State is making is about the mood of the Deplorables.
We're not embarrassed or ashamed, like Nixon supporters and Clinton supporters were.
We're seeing red. 😀
So go ahead, Deep State - skin it. Skin that smokewagon and see what happens.
You tell him we're coming---and hell's comin' with us!!
Scratchin my head.
It was the NYPD that outed the FBI re: the emails on Weiner’s laptop.
NYPD said the laptop contained proof that Hillary Clinton knew Weiner was engaging in a long sexual relationship with a minor but did not intervene to alert any state or federal authorities to protect the 15 year old.
FBI got a warrant for the laptop and demanded that NYPD stand down their investigation of Weiner.
I believe Comey reopened based on the emails on the laptop rather than having to deal with Hillary and what she knew about Weiner.
Misdirection at it’s finest.
The speed with which Comey’s firing took place forestalled much of this and slso forestalled the contents of Comey’s computers and desk mysteriously disappearing. Hillary had Comey covering for her, but who would cover for Comey but himself?

Yes, that’s why Comey sent the letter to congress to obtain that laptop and add that to the cover-up (control the investigation).
See post 44 - Trump & Sessions have all the info now!

I think they’re firing at the big man with both barrels.
The xlintonista are fighting for their lives & will/are doing anything to derail the trump train.
Imo, trump has amazing info on their criminality & they know it.
Again, imo, l think this has escalated to the point that hildabeast has the death squads on the move again.
Very edgie situation.
The letter to Comey focused mostly on his #2 Andrew McCabe.
But the most noteworthy thing about Grassley’s letter is its focus on McCabe. Grassley noted that McCabe is already under investigation by the FBI’s inspector general for playing a top role in the Hillary Clinton email investigation even though McCabe’s wife accepted nearly $700,000 in political donations arranged by a close Clinton friend, Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, for her run for state senate in Virginia.
“While Mr. McCabe recused himself from public corruption cases in Virginia he failed to recuse himself from the Clinton email investigation,” Grassley wrote, “despite the appearance of a conflict created by his wife’s campaign accepting $700,000 from a close Clinton associate during the investigation.”
Now, Grassley wrote, there could be a problem with McCabe’s participation in the Trump-Russia probe. If McCabe had a conflict being too close to Clinton, how could he then investigate Trump? A key passage from Grassley’s letter:
Mr. McCabe’s appearance of a partisan conflict of interest relating to Clinton associates only magnifies the importance of those questions. That is particularly true if Mr. McCabe was involved in approving or establishing the FBI’s reported arrangement with Mr. Steele, or if Mr. McCabe vouched for or otherwise relied on the politically-funded dossier in the course of the investigation. Simply put, the American people should know if the FBI’s second-in-command relied on Democrat-funded opposition research to justify an investigation of the Republican presidential campaign.
Grassley followed with a dozen questions, all targeted at McCabe. Has McCabe been involved “in any capacity” in investigating alleged collusion between TrumpWorld and Russia? Has McCabe been involved in surveillance or intercepts of any sort in the case? Has McCabe “made any representations to prosecutors or judges” regarding the Steele dossier? Has McCabe had any interactions with Steele himself? Did McCabe brief anyone in the Obama administration on the Trump-Russia investigation? Was McCabe ever authorized by the FBI to speak to the media about the case? Did he ever do so without authorization? Has anyone in the FBI raised questions about McCabe’s possible Clinton-Trump conflict of interest? Has any complaint been filed about it? Has anyone at the FBI recommended or requested that McCabe recuse himself from the Russia-Trump investigation?
***********************************************
The questions Grassley asked were an indictment, they were not designed to be responded to.
So the answer is NO, the Grassley letter was not answered because all answers are pretty much self-incriminating. It was indeed evident in the letter that Grassley was angry.
Now George Webb had insider knowledge that Grassley was waiting for answers nonetheless and held up the Rosenstein confirmation to give time for answers to be made.
Rosenstein was nominated by President Trump in January and was not confirmed until April 25. Grassley held it up and people were shaking their heads why? The answer is clear. The democrats said there was an ongoing investigation into Russia-Trump and that confirming Rosenstein would interfere with it.
During those many weeks that Rosenstein was held in limbo, Yates, Priestap, and Comey were plotting to set a trap for the President.
More importantly, Grassley got the info (the dirt) on McCabe. George Webb was reporting nearly every day about the McCabe bribe of $700,000 from the Hillary camp and how that information was given over to Grassley. Grassley then woke up to the reality of the information and penned that angry letter. After no answers were forthcoming, Grassley moved Rosenstein to confirmation.
Two weeks after Rosenstein was confirmed, Deputy AG Rosenstein wrote his letter to AG Sessions recommending Comey be dismissed.
Yes, Corsi reported, “Gloves have come off.”
Now it remains to be seen if several investigations will be carried out by the new incoming FBI Director.
1. Investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails.
2. Investigation into Anthony Weiner’s Laptop.
3. Investigation into immunity agreements.
4. Investigation into Yates, Priestap, Comey plot to entrap the President.
There are surely more investigations.
Corsi said this is Watergate X 10. I think he is not exaggerating.

The comments are great—like reading an FR thread.
Very interesting scenario played out there — though the author of that post would have more credibility if he knew that the President of the United States doesn’t get “arrested” under any circumstances.

Perhaps they meant accused or charged? Earlier in the post it mentioned “filing federal charges”.
The plan was interrupted, but no doubt they will continue to obstruct and interfere with Trump’s agenda or come up with another plan.

When a paragraph begins with these phrases it is an indicator the writer is trying to convince himself it is true because he knows it is yet another far fetched conspiracy theory.

Thank you for that...
So the questions were asked and answered all in one session...
I wondered why it was taking so long to get Rosenstein approved...
Thank you again for that information...

After a couple of days, I have to agree that all of the events just before the Saturday night dinner was an orchestration of information intended to slam the new president with an Obstruction Charge, 18 USC 1510, a felony.
From Mr. Corsi's timeline it is text book on how an agent can get a subject to make incriminating statements. The trick is to avoid entrapment, meaning planting the seed or idea of committing the crime into the mind of the subject.
The text book approach is to lay out a situation in which the subject might be predisposed to take actions on their own.
It is possible that Mr. Trump either had the knowledge of the trap or the presence of mind to avoid the trap.
If he knew Comey might be recording the conversation, then there would be no expectation of privacy. Indeed, under federal law, one party can give consent to a recording, and if Mr. Trump did that, then the table conversation might well have been recorded, if for no other reason then to provide the President with protection. Certainly USSS has the resources to have provided that support.
Trump is wise to brush aside any comments about a recording. Both Trump and Spicer have pushed that away immediately, with no discussion and no denials, which might be a big league clue that Trump knew of the recording attempt.
If all of this is true, then Comey committed an act of treason to bring down a lawfully elected President and deserves everything Trump threw at him.
Trying to makes sense of a lot of this. Thank you for your great explanation. It was clear he felt forced to come forward with that presser, last summer, and it was obvious he was walking a tightrope. That alone makes him as dirty as poop.
