The Falklands penguins that would not explode

The minefields laid in the Falkland Islands were intended to kill or maim British soldiers, but over the last 35 years they have become de facto nature reserves for penguins. For better or worse, however, the time has now come for their home to be demined, reports Matthew Teller.
{snip}Fortunately, the landmines aren't a problem for the penguins - at least, not the little Magellanics and Gentoos of Yorke Bay.
"They don't seem to be heavy enough to set them off," says Esther Bertram, chief executive officer of Falklands Conservation.

I read that Graham Chapman improvised the BURMA! line, and if you look closely you can see John Cleese barely holding back laughter.
One of the all-time great Python sketches...and I suspect this article was posted solely to flush Python fans out into the open.

You are absolutely right. Just decided to throw John a curveball mid-sketch. Tim Conway often did the same to Harvey Korman and Lyle Waggoner. I believe the Hitler puppet with the pencil was one that was not rehearsed. “He’s gonna hit you with that club”.
