While it's commonly known by now that the new spending bill that Congress and the Trump administration agreed to funds mostly Democratic priorities, and doesn't fund President Trump's border wall, what's not widely known is that the new legislation goes even farther than this. Not only does it not fund the border wall, but it prevents the government from constructing a border wall with any funds.

What page of the CR is that quote on?
No, I haven’t. Has anyone here ?
Please step forward.
I didn’t claim to read it. I recommended doing that over reading the articles presented to us by the enemy propaganda machine.
And for the last god@mn time stop coming at me sideways and speak to me like a human. kthxbai
including the use of personnel, fencing, other forms of tactical infrastructure, and technology = temporary BS.
“...If he does not veto this bill and go to the country he will have forfeited the allegiance of any conservative with conscience.”
The old saying “the proof is in the pudding” certainly applies here. He is going to have to lay all of his cards on the table this instance. If he does not go after this like a dog chasing a car, his whole facade will crumble and leave him exposed as “all blow and no show!” We then, will lose our freedoms at an ever accelerating pace.
Hope I am wrong but I will await final decision after this fiasco.
OMG, what a drama queen! Get over yourself. Your statement is asinine on its face.
As usual, the #NeverTrump crowd is most in hysterics over this.
Oh, and thanks for informing us that "any conservative with conscience" must now withdraw their allegiance. Just idiotic.
Last time I checked, there still some time left in this administration, so pardon some of us "conservatives with consciences" for not taking your dubious advice.
President Trump will be presenting his own budget come September. That's when a shutdown might be contemplated.
The shortsighted thinking on this CR issue is just ridiculous. One must know when to pick one's battles, and this isn't the time for a government shutdown. The President is already thinking about the future.
You seem to have little understanding of timing and the use of political capital. President Trump knows he has a RINO Congress, and there's little to be done about that for the time being. Certainly a government shutdown this early on would be extremely ill-advised. But you already knew that.
Maybe he won't sign the CR, but, in any event, you should take your disappointment up with the GOPe Congress, not the President. And try to limit your gratuitous advice about what Trump supporters need to do with their allegiance, since you are not a supporter of this President.
By all means, please do withdraw your allegiance—which never really existed, of course—because there's no need for your apocalyptic hysteria around here.
Animal welfare act....HUH? Dogs and cats HUH? I think you had better try a little harder to find the truth.
9 SEC. 739. None of the funds made available by this
10 Act may be used to carry out any activities or incur any
11 expense related to the issuance of licenses under section
12 3 of the Animal Welfare Act (7 U.S.C. 2133), or the re13
newal of such licenses, to class B dealers who sell dogs
14 and cats for use in research, experiments, teaching, or
15 testing.
I agree that “tactical” is not a wall. But the language does not exclude anything unless there is an exclusion somewhere else in the bill. We have had some progress reducing the flow of illegals. We will need a wall in some cases to stop them, and in other cases the tactical will work.
Under that it should say 739 (page #). At the bottom it should say May 1, 2017 (12:49 a.m.)
As I said, the choice is that stark and that Manichaean. If he will not risk his presidency on this issue he will lose it.

Nahhh. This is a non-issue to most Americans. Trump himself will declare how he is continuing to get things done as he has averted a governmental shutdown.
Non-issue. By tomorrow the focus of the MSM and all of America will be on some other item making the news.
“Real danger to the country”? Please. Remember that the real danger to the country was Hillary. And even if Trump lost the battle on TrumpCare and even though he has correctly forecasted that he would lose the veto battle if he challenged this stopgap funding bill - the country (and Trump’s performance so far) is in no danger.
“Maybe he won’t sign the CR, but, in any event, you should take your disappointment up with the GOPe Congress, not the President.”
You are correct to some extent. However, we are not stupid...we know the Senate and Congress is brimming with “go along to get along (elected) traitors. The Republican party abandoned us as a voting bloc many, many years ago. They simply exist to enrich themselves by playing with “smoke and mirrors”, to which the public is totally fixated on and dazzled with their brilliance. However, with each remarkable show (or stunt) the perform, we lose even more of our culture and freedoms. Nathan (even though not residing in the U.S.) is a very old member of FR and has never wavered off of the conservative causes.
So, are you inferring Trump is a lame duck with this congress? I hope not.
$1.5 billion border security this year and $2.6 billion proposed by Trump next year for a “physical wall” hardly seems the hysterical disaster being touted on FR. Sheesh...
You're embarrassing yourself and FR with your insane and ridiculous posts. I don't know what kind of fantasies you entertain, but stop posting about battles and civil war. You sound like a child.
There will be more things on the table when time to make the budget for the next fiscal year starting October 1st, things very dear to dims and RINOs I am sure. Things that can be used as leverage. This budget was supposed to be the budget of the previous administration but they were hopeless at getting budgets done so the last quarter of the previous fiscal year had to be done.
The thing is many government contracts go to the end of the fiscal year so hard not to fund them until then. It would be chaos to de-fund something that has contracts until the end of the fiscal year. Also hard to fund new things, too hard to make new contracts for just a quarter of a year.
I think it would have been foolish to make this a big budget battle. If it turned into a battle, the focus would still be on this battle of funding through September when the budget for the next fiscal year needs to be addressed. It would have created a budget battle lasting several months, led to more continuing resolutions instead of real budget for the next fiscal year.
I hope things will be different when the actual budget is being done for the next fiscal year, but if the votes are not there Trump and no one else can force Congress to vote his way.
RINOs are and have been an issue for a long time; they fundamentally agree with dims on so many issues it isn’t funny.
At this point I consider Trump’s presidency a failure. The moment he kept Paul Ryan was the beginning of the end. He campaigned one way but lost his nerve when he came into office, what a shame. It was this nations last chance, at this point we need to fall into utter destruction if we are ever to get the takers to realize the error of their ways
The benefit of stepped-up enforcement and whatever repairs we make to the existing fences will a drop in illegal activity. I will wait for the statistics on mexican drugs, California welfare payments and other indicators rather than obsess over politics. There will eventually be some wall and Mexico will pay for some as well. I certainly did not expect it by now. I will expect some progress by a year from now.
He doesn’t have a choice on “keeping” Paul Ryan... Ryan’s a congressman.
Normally I don't bother responding to your personal attacks as you continue to stalk me through the Internet but this time I have a collateral point which I make for the benefit of the reader.
It is your habit to call me a "Never-Trumper" which I have consistently denied for the simple reason that it is not true. As I have stated many times I have supported Trump after his nomination and even after his election. I suppose I confused party loyalty, even in it's bastardized condition, with support of Trump's candidacy after his nomination. Today, I criticize Trump when warranted and praise him when deserved.
Now I find myself in the position of regretting my honesty in denying the honorific which you insist on bestowing on me. The time is rapidly approaching when there will be many on these threads who will lay claim to having been a Never-Trumper but I unfortunately will have been clear on the record that, alas, I do not qualify for the honor.
I will have to content myself when the reckoning is made that Donald Trump will have proved my predictions concerning the bona fides of his conservatism to have been all too terribly vindicated.
