The United Airlines passenger who was hauled off an overbooked plane is a poker-playing doctor from Kentucky with a sordid past.
Dr. David Dao, 69, who was captured in a now-viral video being forcibly dragged off the Louisville-bound flight at Chicagos OHare Airport on Sunday, was working as a doctor specializing in pulmonary disease in Elizabethtown when he was convicted of trading prescription drugs for sex favors.
According to documents filed with the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure, Dao was arrested in 2003 on the drug-related offenses following an undercover investigation.

What you don't do is violate FAA safety regulations for on-board passengers by going crazy-as-a-loon nuts ... screaming ane yelling and such.
The best thing that will come out of this will be the sheep waking up and demanding the laws be addressed to prevent the airlines from using government to suspend basic contract law and prop up their bad policy.
Airline travel is unbelievably cheap when you consider what you're getting for it (a long distance traveled over a very short time). You get what you pay for. You'll notice that United didn't bump anyone from the first-class cabin on this flight.
The best thing that will come out of this will be the sheep waking up and demanding the laws be addressed to prevent the airlines from using government to suspend basic contract law and prop up their bad policy figuring out some other way to travel that doesn't involve being treated like -- well, sheep.
You’re starting straw man arguments here. You know that’s the first sign that you’ve lost the argument, right?
Another sign is starting in with insults and name calling. You’ve not done that, and I don’t expect you to.
Nor - lol - do I expect you to concede your loss here, but that’s up to you.
What? He was selling drugs for sex on the plane? He deserved to be beaten and draffed off the plane?
Regards
What are "most" missing?
"If you have ever traded drugs for sex, or sex for drugs, United reserves the right to have you beaten and dragged off any of its flights."
It’s ok to be a pervert until you need to use it against someone you battered? The alt right is still not with you on this. Now go away United.
Thanks. I may have to analyze the enforceability of that contract. I can think of a number of grounds for invalidation, but federal law may protect airlines from state contract law.
Maybe you are a cuckold who allows yourself to be lorded over. That’s your problem.
Well, like I previously said, maybe cucks like being submissive to “authority”. Maybe conservatism isn’t for you.
“Authority” is what keeps the civilized world civil.
.
What a nasty thing to write about me; little one.
But I suppose it’s the best you could do given the short amount of time you had to think before spewing
Breaking on Fox.....United just released NEW statements....
It’s never too late to do the right thing. We will fix this.
We’re sorry. We’ll fix it.
Precisely, what that guy did at any time hasn’t got anything to do with what United did.
This just makes United even more guilty.
They wouldn’t have done a thing without all of the publicity that this has received.
Agree. It is on ALL of the news channels, outlets, sites, everywhere.
It’s almost like the CEO didn’t realize there would be videos of this...based on his first statement and email he sent to employees (that also got leaked! Ha.)
“United spokesman Jonathan Guerin said Tuesday that all 70 seats on United Express Flight 3411 were filled, but the plane was not overbooked as the airline previously reported. Instead, United and regional affiliate Republic Airlines, which operated the flight, selected four passengers at random to be removed to accommodate crew members needed in Louisville the next day.”
Is that also your point? Obey. Period. The law is never wrong. People must be controlled. They are incapable of independence and therefore must be led and corralled. For their own good.
I don't know what sort of world you prefer to live in. I prefer a world where common decency, ethics, goodwill, the "golden rule" are permitted.
You have your visions, I'll have mine.
Just don't ever try to impose your "visions" on me. You won't like the push back.
I've been in the exact same position as this guy in the past, and I bitched and complained about it. But I never got my ass kicked and got dragged off a flight like that because I knew exactly what the airline's obligations -- and mine -- were.
I usually deal with problems like this directly with the CEO of the company in question. And I usually get a satisfactory response, too.
