Agreed, Jim. The fedgov has no business providing med care in general.

The market needs to be the mechanism to run health care economy, like most other issues. Some oversight of course, but not fedgov health care.

President Trump became "President" Trump because citizen voters rejected the watered down ideas of "establishment Republicans" like McConnell and Ryan and their failures to be effective checks on the power of the previous administration.

Those citizens will now and in the future hold President Trump responsible for any further watering down of their demands to repeal and replace "Obamacare"--a concept which was and is a Progressive Trojan Horse hiding the Progressive attempt to take over a significant portion of the U. S. economy and bypassing the Constitution's limits.

Now is the time to remind the President that, if he wants to create jobs, opportunities, and freedom for America--Make America Great Again--then he must open up that Progressive Trojan Horse, show it for what it is, explain it to the American people, and put the pressure on Ryan and McConnell so that the Legislative Branch is not allowed to overpower, appropriate, and dilute the wishes of "the People" who elected him to carry out their wishes!

President Reagan would have done no less!

AMEN. Repeal first

Then they have at least 18 months to replace and show the voters something if they are so worried about mid-terms.

You mean President Trump isn’t a conservative? How shocking.

Jim, the Freedom Caucus voted for Ryan to represent them. Ryan and McConnell need to let any bill come to a vote. Trump can only sign or not sign what he is presented.

If Trump is given the repeal, he will sign it.

What he's doing now is madness...

And that is why a lot of sane people disagree with his actions.

It has been said that only Trump can separate his voters from him.
He’s doing it with these tweets.
I worked my butt off to remove the weasel Eric Cantor, who would have supported Ryancare, and am thrilled to have a representative who actually represents me.
Anyone who threatens to primary Dave Brat becomes my political opponent.
His choice.

BTW, if we had not removed Eric Cantor in June 2014, the RINOs would have passed Rubio’s amnesty to clear that issue off the table for Yeb! as planned and there would be no President Trump.

I love the title! And I so agree!

"Getting dragged down into the unconstitutional socialized healthcare quagmire is insanity!"

Agree. The train is headed off the tracks and the swamp is drain is plugged. In fairness, the old media empire and the Obamas still hold massive influence to stop Trump’s agenda.

Bad move by Trump.
++++
When Jim’s first sentence in his post is BAD MOVE BY TRUMP, you know we are in trouble. And it was a a BAD MOVE - a really BAD MOVE. Trump has had tremendous support on this forum and you can already see it starting to dribble away over his handling of the Freedom Caucus and the so called “Repeal” of Obamacare.

Time for Trump to right the ship. That is RIGHT the ship. And way past time to get back on track by really repealing Obamacare.

It’s possible I’ve overlooked the evidence showing the FC members to be true swamp drainers. If it exists.

Repeal, let market forces rule, allow insurance to operate across state lines. That’s about it.

Trump wants to deconstruct the administrative state.

On the other hand Trump wants federal control over healthcare.

The problem is that federal control over healthcare epitomizes the absolute worst in the administrative state.

So much could be written, and has been written, on how federal control over healthcare brings on an administrative state that is abusive, so out of control, so illegal, so on and on and on, that I won't do it here. But it is all out there.

Obamacare is simply a good example of an administrative state totally out of control. Obamacare administrative state says, you have to buy a product or you could go to jail.

I mean come on! And it makes no difference if the R's try to make it better. They wont, they cant. It wont happen. It will still be an administrative state totally out of control. "We're from the government and we're here to help." {9 of the most scary words from the government as said from Ronald Reagan.}

So what gives?

Destroy the administrative state - or not!

If the HFC "moved the goalposts", as reliably asserted by someone who has close contacts within the administration, then they deserve to be criticized for it.

Freeper "LS" has positively asserted that this is the case.

I was against this Ryan-sponsored bill, but if the HFC didn't negotiate in good faith, that changes the situation "bigly".

As for the American People only supporting the bill at 17%, I bet there's NO bill that could be created that would enjoy majority support, or anything even close.

After all, the support for total repeal is at the same level, 20% or less.

This coalition is fracturing, as evidenced by the fact that the HFC has already lost 1 member since this debacle.

Things are not looking good for anyone but Democrats...

Healthcare is one of the largest businesses in the USA. The professional law makers know how to manipulate things to maximize the income of the lawmakers to line their pockets. An honest politician would not have a chance in this system if there were such a person. Conservatives are once again the scape goats for opposing the political money making scheme.

Amen. Big leadership gap in the House, and the approach here needs bigger thinking/greater courage than many of the idiots there are capable of.

Firmly believe the first step needs to be a law that sunsets (or slams the door) on Ocare within 6 to 9 months. We can go back to the less-crappy world we had before, and start issuing bills to allow interstate commerce and other reforms asap.
