One thing I don't understand-of all people for Pres Trump to team up with-not even team up with, to delegate to, and put his credibility in his hands-Paul Ryan???

When the entire set of House Republicans elect a Speaker, they mean for him to represent them in initial talks.
Do you honestly believe Trump is supposed to talk with every separate member in Congress, for every thing?

Easy. He “put his faith” in Ryan because when the House Republicans held an election for Speaker, NONE of the “principled conservatives” in the HFC ran against him, and NONE voted for him.
Ryan is the de facto leader because no one else will take him on. And today, the HFC said he SHOULDN’T step down as Speaker.
Who else SHOULD Trump side with? The HFC, which is 25 guys? (10% of the House R total???)
